All our Customers avail of .INFO Domain Registrations at an astounding USD 0.25! There are absolutely no restrictions on the number of .INFO domain name registrations per Customer. This scheme applies to all new .INFO domain names registered, for the first year of their Registration. A 2 year .INFO Domain name therefore will be charged at USD 0.25 + USD 7.90. Also Renewals and Transfers will not attract this special pricing.
ARe you the owner???? Shame on you if you are I am reporting this to the admins...

Thread closed ... please do your due diligence, as always, folks and remember - Caveat Emptorโ„ข! :gl:

PS. Thread currently being investigated, and if it's uncovered that there has been any intentional act here to deceive fellow Namepros members, actions will be taken accordingly, IMHO. :talk:

Thank you for patience and understanding.

ELB.com 25 cent .INFOs... a scam?

Hey Guys,

I realise that the original thread has been closed, I don't want to encourage people to go to this site if it is some kind of big scam but I feel it should be discussed.

I saw the thread and straight away went to the link and bought my $0.25 domain, which is HydrogenPowered.info.

I since read on the original post, a guy saying "DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE, and with this forum link: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=135024&highlight=scam

From reading what is on the link, I realised that people have had trouble with their services... but I haven't had any problem at all. They took my money, then I thought something had gone wrong because the page after the paypal payment just froze on a 'your request is being processed' page. After a while I got bored and I went back to my new account and sure enough... it was there!

All the whois data is fine and it all seems legit even if their control panel is a bit confusing.

I feel that from a few peoples bad experiences with the company in one day, in a thread on another site that doesn't even say whether the people were able to resolve their issues with the company taking the money but failing to register the domain.

All I'm saying is, Let's keep an open mind and we may realise that they were having a problem on the 2nd September (the dates of the posts on the other site) and that the issues have since been resolved with ELB.com.

DirectI reseller. The lowest price on DirectI is 99 cents...you're telling me they have no problem taking a loss on registering .INFOs?

Please can you prove how you know that this is the reseller price on a DirectI reseller account, so that I can verify what you are saying is correct before we start making this company look bad. It's imporatant that we get the facts straight here.

Also, a tiny loss one year. The next year when the person comes to renew it another year is money that they may not have received, hadn't they have had the promotion in the first place.

EG. When .BE domains were being given away for FREE!

DirectI resellers all have the same-looking "supersite" template.

Only getting 25 cents of 99 cents is a big loss when you have a lot of registrations coming in daily...

Thread is back open. I don't think we've determined either way if it's a legitimate offer or not, but consider 1) 25 cents isn't a big investment to find out, and 2) A company taking a 75 cent loss on a domain registration is not proof of a scam.

This is Business 101. Its not uncommon for domain companies to use the loss leader approach to domain sales, especially companies that heavily push hosting services.

Once again, can you please prove where you have got the information that DirectI's .INFOs are priced at minimum 99 cents.

Thanks

Well, they may have made a fair profit from the sales of their other domains. As the prices for resellers by DirectI for .coms and .nets is approximatly $6.99. This may be one way.
It's also quite easy to find out if they're a legit company. Simply register, login and notice the logout button and some other features do to "foundationapi.com" which is owned by DirectI, so I see no problem.
I have not tried them out, so I am not 100% sure.
