2 individual sites vs. forwarding to one

I have 2 similar domain names and wondered if its better to forward one site to the other and maintain just 1 site or set them up as 2 different sites? I assume if I made 2 sites I would need to have different content. Thanks in advance

If they are pretty similar, I would focus on making one better site and forward the domain to that one. If you are trying to make two different sites, it will either be more work and/or your sites will not be as good.

It depends on what your goal is...
If you want SE traffic, you might as well make almost identical sites and host each one individually. Forwarded domains typically don't generate any/many SE results.
If you want to create a brand around one website and have no (0) traffic at the other domain, then forwarding could make sense to increase brand awareness.
