Hey Guys,

I'm new to domaining and see that probably two of the biggest sites to sell your domain on are Flippa and Sedo (correct me if I'm wrong).

Why are they so different in selling/asking price? It seems crazy to me. On Sedo, I see dozens if not hundreds of bids on some pretty random domains for thousands to hundreds of thousands (if not more) dollars vs Flippa where it seems rare to have a domain on there selling for $x.xxx. Also, many of the domains I see on Sedo which are selling for so much money have no content on the site at all vs Flippa where I can see there is an incoming revenue per month for most sites.

A bit confused here..

Sedo is primarily just for domains, whereas on Flippa, you are more likely to find the actual websites for sale.

The main selling point for many listings at Flippa is the revenue stream from the website, and the list price is based mainly on that, not the actual quality of the domain name in lot of cases. (And not saying that everything you find at Sedo is quality either, lol).

With that said, listing at Sedo is free, and you can freely set what ridiculous price you want. You are finding lower pricing at Flippa, as the seller has paid to list there, and more likely looking to move the site in the near term.

hmm.. so if you think you have a good quality keyword domain, you might as well try (since it's free) to list on Sedo? But if you have an actual revenue streaming in for a website on that domain, try at Flippa?
