JUst been going through some renewals of domains at Godaddy, and saw that .tv domains are now just $14.99 !!!!

Blimey, it seems that Godaddy are cutting prices for .tv on a weekly basis. First $24.99, then $19.99 and now $14.99.

I dont think they will drop the price lower than this, so now might be a good time to go and register those names you have had on your lists for some time.

I know I am gonna register a few now which I have been playing to buy for ages.

they see future in tv domains and pushed the right button, so they will get new registrations for sure.

They still want $40 for renewals. No thanks, I'll stick with enom.tv and free me.tv service.

But if when you check out, you select more than 1 year, you get those extra years at just $14.99.

For those who are looking to register names for any long term projects, I don't think you will find a better deal than this at the moment.

You're right, and it almost like two yearrs for the price of one. Gives you the ability to sit on the names for a little longer if you plan is to flip, and let the market grow sttronger (hopefully).

I plugged in a bunch of names from old lists I kept, and I'd say that 80-85% of them were taken now...

Well I have just regged 5 .tvs for 2 years each and paid $149.90.

Definately saved a few dollars adding an additional year to the registration.

Ah, interesting!

But I want to use my domains with me.tv, that's the only thing that got me interested in .tv to begin with.

Ironically, that may be why they have lowered the prices. They can't compete with the me.tv tools so the are forced to do something that would still drive the business to them.

That's correct or else they will lose 100% .TV registration to enom.

But is this a loss leader strategy? What do they have to pay verisign for each .tv reg?

Probably they are taking a significant loss. Kind of foolish on Bob's part, but he has to get customers in the door somehow, and is probably counting on selling useless add-ons to make up for the loss.

Now if they REALLY wanted to push this thing, he would lower the price to 12.95 for Registrations.

That would get a significant interest building.

I'm trying to renew a .tv and it's telling me I need to pay 39.99/ per year or with 2 years I get a whopping 5% off for a total of $75.98 for 2 years. I even added the second year in the cart and still no love. Exactly how do I do this again?

I dont think you can renew any existing .tvs at Godaddy for $14.99 - that price is for new registrations only.

However, there is a Godaddy coupon thread in this forum, where you can sometimes find coupons offering savings on renewals at godaddy. There was a good while a while back to renew .tvs at Godady for just $24.99, but that one has now expired.

Hope this helps.

Try any one of these codes:

OYH1 - 10% Off Whatever
chill1 - 10% Off Whatever
hash1 - 10% Off whatever

Note: These codes will not work with the $14.99 promo offer or any other promo offers.

Showbiz, you must be kidding. What, pray tell, is there to compete with?
