It's tax season in the USA again. I have been receiving 1099s from the marketplaces where I do business. I made my first sales on Atom last year and they paid me through Paypal. I recently received a 1099-K from both Paypal and a 1099-NEC from Squadhelp/Atom. As I look at my reconciliation file from Paypal, I see the Atom sales are being reported as income.
So now my CPA and I will get to figure out how to avoid paying taxes on the same income twice. This is really annoying.
If you are new to paying taxes for internet sales, be careful here as you may find yourself in a similar situation.
