this is bizarre... i thought one digit of either letters or numbers were prohibited in .com

Yet when you type in www . 0 . com or www . 1 . com they are directed to a sedo parking page!

can anyone explain this? - does verisign just point such names to parking pages and profit from them?

I thought all domainers knew that two character .com domains could not be re-registered. This is 101 type of stuff. They can resemble state and country codes, therefore not allowed to register anymore.

Are you serious?

Thanks...FINALLY!! I thought I was fighting an "uphill battle"! ;)
...
Seriously its 101 BASIC info on domains!
...
And same goes for .NET's
...
Unless they RE-RELEASE it...you WOULD NOT be able to register a 2 character .COM/.NET!

come on...
the message can't prove your point....
it only show that the 2 chart domains are not available or unregistered "on this registar"....

just as on some registar...one chart ccTLD domain can't be register ...but I registered on others....

I think two character .COM or .NET that expired...it also can be re-registered.
only 2 chart .org can't.....
I remembered that you have some 2 chart .com domains...if you want..you can try it...

FUNNY!

This is what I was told. I believe only the .orgs are the only major ext that has the rule.

Go check how drops work, they go through the drop before the domain is returned back to the registry. If the domain was not caught (for example in the unlikely event nobody noticed it) the domain would have been locked forever more (or until the registry decides to sell the domains again as has been suggested in recent times).

This is very basic domaining information and the vast majority of domainers know this.

Interesting glitch at Namecheap

If you search for any single letter .de domain it shows as available :hehe:

But you get refund after you register...saying registration failed

I so wish they were allowed to register :)
