I was going through my spreadsheet this morning and realised I needed to add this information as it would help me see what exposure I have. Do I need to add more names to a certain area? Am I over exposed in another?
Currently I have my domains listed in renewal date order with the below columns
Name | | Purchase Price | Expiry Date | Reg Date | Registrar | Godaddy Value | Estibot Value | Offers | Price Requests | Potential End Users
Example:
Sector - Finance
Industry - Insurance / Loans / Mortgages etc
Market ( Niche) - Customers / B2B
1 domain might focus on loans for small businesses another for secured loans on residential properties.
For me the 2 domains would fall under the finance sector, both are loans but for different markets/niches
I am now in the process of adding Sector | Industry | Niche columns to my inventory sheet
I am also toying with the idea of adding a news link for each name, this way if I have days or weeks where I do not follow a particularly sector or niche when I review my spreadsheet there will be a reminder on it for me to do so....
As an example I took my eye off Defi for a while, if there had been a news link site on my spreadsheet I am pretty sure i would of clicked it a few times, just the way my brain works - it needs prompting
The above wont take long and for me personally it will help with my organisation skills (which can be flaky sometimes) This is also good for me in that it will help me do some extra analysis on my names and as I go through them do some further reading in the areas I am involved with.....
Quick Questions:
How many sectors are you exposed to?
How many niches are you involved with?
Have you got your names categorised under sector, Industry niche or something similar already?
If not what are your thoughts on doing it? Good Idea, waste of time.......
Once I have finished, will post my market and niche exposure numbers
Thanks
Nick
