DAN.COM (formerly known as Undeveloped.com) is on a path to be become the biggest domain marketplace in the world. We use state of the art technology to solve everyday problems buyers and sellers in the domain industry face. At DAN.COM we focus on automating most processes required to buy & sell domains to increase a more efficient and active secondary market for domains.

What sets us apart is our strong focus on product development and customer satisfaction. We leave nothing to chance and every single feature and element we introduce is professionally and carefully designed and built.

DAN.COM is ranked in the top 5 best-rated marketplaces in the world (According to the biggest review platform Trustpilot) and in the domain industry, we're the domain marketplace with the highest rating with an average of 9,4 out of 10 points.

At DAN.COM you will get the highest value for the lowest commission around. Due to our domain transfer automation, we can offer significantly faster handling of domain transactions and payouts (usually within 24 hours) at the lowest fee charged by any domain marketplace.

We've been the first on many fronts and proudly will continue to keep innovating. We were the first to offer optimized for sale pages since 2013, the first to provide payment plans in the form of lease to own and rentals and also the first and only domain marketplace offering free SSL on all domains parked with us for over a year now.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Just closed my first sale with Dan (negotiation) on an inbound lead. Quick payment, and a fun seller experience!

@DAN.COM please keep installments optional and keep the ability to set number of installments as it is now, I hope that you do not change that.

Some of us do not like installments at all, or prefer few installments of 3 to 6 months.

My data are empirical - based on comparing sales of the same 1500 domain portfolio across multiple platforms.

Your traffic data might be including every person who lands directly on a domain parked at DAN - such traffic has nothing to do with marketplace traffic.

That's incorrect. We process 6M uniques a month on our for sale pages (that traffic can't be pooled by parties like Similarweb) and 1,6M directly at DAN.COM.

I wholeheartedly agree with you both. If DAN can implement Internal balance than its gold for both us and DAN too. It might turn some sellers as buyers as some of us might invest some portion of our funds in expanding our portfolios, which infact will double the commisions for DAN.

We'll offer the option to manage funds at DAN instead of cashing it out after a sale in 2020. We need to put some regulatory pieces together before we can offer this though. Since we're playing the long game, we first have to make sure we can offer that feature in a legal way (As a marketplace/Registrar, you can't just hold funds in escrow, it's not allowed).

When you send them a bunch of domains to add, do you submit any proof of ownership?

I only use their “live” chat for this purpose and it always takes maximum 24 hours (also on weekends). I do send screenshots to prove I’m the new owner.

I hope @DAN.COM will implement something similar to Sedo’s TXT verification.

We're first adding the ownership verification via nameservers, after that we will likely also offer a DNS based TXT verification for the sellers that manage their own DNS.

They stopped getting my emails for a couple of months already. Now with every not added bunch of domains i need to go to the chat. My guess it's some oversmart spam filter at their side or whatever. And they are not going to do anything with that. The only thing that really pisses me off in DAN.

That shouldn't be the case. Can you send us some details about this so we can look into it?

We're keeping the current installment option active and are adding a new option for sellers to choose from.

The new model converts better and makes you more money because you can start charging a markup, but you can decide which of the two financing options you use.

Have a great day!

I wonder if anyone enables this setting: "Redirect your buyers to your internal marketplace for sales pages"

What it does is redirect the domain from name.com to dan.com/buy-domain/name.com
chat button will be visible thats the only advantage I found for using this option.

Recently I started using this option to give potential buyer chance to chat with Dan staff in case he is confused about how buying works.

what do you think? any disadvantage of using this option?

@DAN.COM

In landing page (of any of my domains) there is a list of most popular domains from my portfolio shown. I noticed that those domains get most views in a snow ball effect, which means some crappy domains will always stay on top of the list because they were uploaded first to my portfolio and got past visits earlier.

Please add a method to customize this "popular domains" list from my portfolio, I wish there is option to pick them manually.

Also it will be highly appreciated if we get more detailed traffic stats, showing source of traffic on the domains:
- External traffic (ex: type in)
- Internal traffic (ex: visits from inside dan.com)
- Organic traffic (google, social media..etc)

I have already sent it a few times, both in emails and in the chat. How else do you want me to send it?

I would suggest you check if your mail is properly setup, like outgoing ssl/tls connection, correct spf records etc. Proper delivery of emails really depends on security/auth stuff nowdays.
You can also check email delivery problems and blacklists on mx toolbox or similar service.

Edit: you can pm for help, I know some stuff

Does Dan.com let sellers split payouts like say $5000 pending payout $2500 via paypal, and $2500 via BTC..like epik... I guess the Dashboard would need some kind of wallet for that, otherwise payout just gets sent out the way payout settings are configured?

There's no such option.

Also that appears a little desperate when you counter/decline first offer and now want to accept first offer.

On top of that, whenever you make a counter offer or reject an offer - the offer becomes invalid.

The best you can do is wait or maybe counter with the amount of first offer.

@BrandCollectors.com

@DAN.COM team may be able to help you. They can get in touch with the buyer and explain you were not able to accept an offer due to “whatever”.

The domain name industry needs a

Domain name pawnbroker

That would allow more domain names to to be kept by registrants by pawning a domain to either help liquidate their portfolio and or renew domain names they may not be able to at the time of renewal

Rick Latona tried this, Epik does offer domain loans without to much formality.
