Hello!

Im Johan from Sweden. I am amazed how I have totaly missed this culture. Im working in IT but it have never occured to me that Domainhunting is a thing. Im a big fan of branding, words, puns etc. This will burn hole in my pockets.
I have in one week bought 36 domains where a couple feels special. Like CoinClosure.com for example.
Im excited to learn all the tricks. Thanks for having me, looking forward to this journey.

Best Regards

/Levererarn

CoinStart VS CoinClosure. Which name would a company likely choose? Start is upbeat, indicates something new/fresh, startup related etc. Closure is mostly depressing. So the choice is clear. Naturally CoinStart.com has been taken long ago, but that's the sort of thinking that helps pick better names. Make sure the words you choose are popular and have positive meanings because businesses don't tend to use words with negative associations (there are always exceptions of course). Good luck!

Haha, yes. When you put it that way Im sure you are right. My hope was that it would sound "legit". Like Coin Deals going good.

there is always new thing(s) if you spent some time and effort to closely watch and learn, i dont know on which IT branch you were but if i could assume your IT were coding/scripting you might be interesting to checking dofo.com it's combination of domain hunting along with coding/scripting

or namebio.com which is adding database & connection into coding/scripting and domaining
or brandpa.com, dan.com, afternic.com, sedo.com as marketplace

Just wanted to take the oppurtunity to thank you all for your warm welcome. A little over a week now since I registered and I have learned alot.
Having got one inquiry about a domain I own (not nearly closed yet) and maybe some help from a big broker to push another one Im positive so far. I have no stress in the industry and I enjoy looking through all threads and learning to recognise the people here. Hoping to be here for years. Havent been a participating member of a forum since the strangefamoursrecords forum in 2009.

Just my personal top 5 I have (not including the one I have a potential sale for)

Climatedot / com
Tokentic / com
SelfPusher / com
JoyRod / com
Librafountain / com

Thank you again for welcoming me. This is fun. Looking forward to continue year 1 as a hobby-domainer.

Best Regards

/Johan

Hello Johan / @Levererarn .. and a belated welcome to NamePros to you! :)

I think the others above have given you great advice!

Specifically when it comes to CoinClosure .. I while I don't quite agree that "Closure" is a negative term in financial circumstances (because it's great to "close" a sell), unfortunately even with positive context I don't really see the domain being strong enough to sell to an end-user at a portfolio-maintaining multiple (meaning that you sell it at a high enough multiple to cover the renewal costs of all the domains you don't sell).

Are all your domains so far hand registrations? If so, I suggest that after taking some more time to absorb all the basics of domaining, that you look at aftermarket domains. Or scour the expired domains closeouts at GoDaddy .. there's always some gems in there that other people have missed!

Anyhow .. best of luck to you going forward! :)

Thank you, Im trying to look more at the aftermarket but pockets are not so deep at the moment. Whenever I make my first sale I will re-invest the money on a better name to boost my portfolio. Thanks alot for your welcome and good tips.
