Hello!

Im Johan from Sweden. I am amazed how I have totaly missed this culture. Im working in IT but it have never occured to me that Domainhunting is a thing. Im a big fan of branding, words, puns etc. This will burn hole in my pockets.
I have in one week bought 36 domains where a couple feels special. Like CoinClosure.com for example.
Im excited to learn all the tricks. Thanks for having me, looking forward to this journey.

Best Regards

Welcome!

Just some advice, don't spend a lot of money before studying the world of domain names ;)

Regards,

Nick

The "trick" is not to waste a lot of money registering lots of domains until you know what you are doing. It actually takes years to really understand this industry. Be patient.

You haven't missed anything, except the boat that sailed back in the mid-90's..

But there's a new boat, with plenty of openings. It's the Mayflower 2.0, the new G's of the stormy seas.

Welcome to forum, your euphoria is something we can all relate to. Ride it, but don't crash. 36 domains in one week sounds like a head-on collision to the drop club..

Welcome to your new addiction. CoinClosure is a pretty good find for someone who's just starting out. You seem to have the right attitude. Now just put in the work and good things should happen. Good luck (and be careful with your money).

Hello Johan and welcome to NamePros. You'll learn all kinds of things as you read through the threads here. One of the most important lessons is that a year goes by quickly and renewal fees add up!
Best of luck with your new venture -

Point taken! 33 out of the 36 are .coms. And then two .plus and one .cards.

I do fully agree -- .COM is king and will remain such. Quality .COM inventory is harder to come by for prices that offer compelling risk-adjusted return.

The point I was making was that a $0.99 .CO provides opportunity for asymmetric return with relatively low risk. I would not suggest to speculate on the new TLDs as the after-market is weak and renewals will usually chew you up alive.

CoinStart VS CoinClosure. Which name would a company likely choose? Start is upbeat, indicates something new/fresh, startup related etc. Closure is mostly depressing. So the choice is clear. Naturally CoinStart.com has been taken long ago, but that's the sort of thinking that helps pick better names. Make sure the words you choose are popular and have positive meanings because businesses don't tend to use words with negative associations (there are always exceptions of course). Good luck!
