Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

AlohA !
this is my opinion and nothing else. so when thinking of handwriting or selecting thc / cbd / cannabis / marijuana / canna / Domains try to focus on the clean and simple method. IMO there are some people really throwing money at the fan with trying to create these things. There just dated, over the top. And really most of them are just crazy. Not sure if people are even aware of what their creating ? Some good grass smoking , thats for sure.
This is a a Future play. Ever changing. Technical and worth hundreds of Billions of dollars. Not sure people really understand where the industry is at now and where its heading. Any hoots. I love Cannabis. I keep it simple with names.
cheers

Save your breath. I’ve been saying that for years but the people that hand register domains know better.

Remember, every domain was hand registered at one point. From LL’s and beyond... if you’re not too greedy and have patience then you can make some solid money. Oh, and you need luck too!

I was just trying to save some people's money, thats all :) I feel theres a hugeee generation gap with these created names. It's as if some domainers are right back in the 70's flinging out long crazy wacky names. Paper weights. Hey, its all good. I have a couple brewing in the pot. Some good, maybe a couple not good. But deff have a couple power hitters on deck. lol
Would be funny if there were just a Cannabis Related section on here. Its a good laugh seeing some of these legends being born. Keep it up crew. wackytabackysmacky is waiting for you.

@hugo. _Strange, You nailed it. That's exactly what i think. It's true that great hand registered names are hard to come by but people seems to forgot that once upon a time they were all hang regged.
So it's a bit funny to me when some people completely rule out hand registrations.
With a bit of creativity and insight, one can hand reg good names.

100% agreed. I mean its a full time job. if your employed in the super competitive advertising / art / design related fields. Conception of new ideas , names , designs , etc is tackled out every day. So im a true believer in new !
Its learning to sell them thats key.
IMO the majority of people are not creative enough to successfully and organically create and brand a useable and requested domain. It's not easy.
I will for sure share my success when it happens because i think its important to Create and Inspire others. Its only a matter of time. I'm super cool with the yearly fee's on upkeep to keep my personal concepts alive. Realistically speaking in actual business potential use or just really crappy bad useless creations that are not worth continuing. Potato / Pototo

Now we’ve moved from selling raw domains into creating and selling a business. There are big costs associated with development.

If you just want to buy a domain with hopes of selling as is, the aftermarket is the only way to go. Registering a domain for $8 is a big mistake. And btw, people that register domains never buy one, they buy tons which is another rookie mistake.

Im for sure new to this. Its all learning.
No shame at all in saying Ive created many $9 wish cards. lol
But to say its not going to happen, Well. I strongly disagree in the manner of you saying "its a big mistake"

To register a bunch of domains is a big mistake. It’s common among people new to the domain industry.

Why create many $9 wish cards as you say, when you can spend the same money on 1 $500 wish card? Your renewal costs go from lots a year to just $10.

@ThatDomainGuy we were all newbies once, as long as you realise, your domaining education is going to cost you money.

simply because there are no guarantee returns on that $500 wish card. seeing the sales reports. seeing overall losses on the horses that have all ready gone their distance. People loosing on investments.
I've help brand succesful companies in the past. This seems much easier.
With research, knowledge of the specific dartboard your trying to score on. There's a gigantic reach of potential clients in my mind. I have sold my concepts of art , furniture , design to people. So i feel more confident in my $9 wish card then the $500 buy and hope you can turn it for a +. Again imo.

Here my thoughts...Some people buy and can afford "Apple/Berkshire Hathaway/etc type of stock while others buy (can afford) "penny stocks"...nothing wrong with either..

No disrespect intended, I wish you big players wouldn't make it sound like a law that you have to spend big bucks to make it in this industry!

Just my thoughts

The problem is that new investors do spend big bucks. They register tons of domains that actually require huge annual fees to maintain. They should research and buy 1 or 2 aftermarket domains that require almost nothing to renew each year.

Im not sure if I agree with your analogy ? But i get your idea.
Big players get to big positions in more then one way. I love the success stories. Education is Key to succeeding and theres no way around that !

Well, you can probably put partial blame it on all those "ebooks"/blogs/etc that say that you can make big money flipping domains...just like "houses"!
"gold fever" is another term..

Big players weren’t always big. It’s certainly beneficial to study how they became big and worthwhile to consider their advice.

I just named some premium stocks (stock market) as examples..

There you go..kinda of stuff that newcomers need to read from experts like you!.

I have a vast construction background, I am grateful that I had mentors (skilled tradepersons that showed the tricks of their trade etc) when I started
