Good morning!

NamePros is working on a lot of new and exciting features, and many of them are thanks to member suggestions in our Comments and Feedback section.

We'd love to hear even more! What else would you like us to add for you?

All suggestions are welcome, from small and simple changes to big and complex features!

Please post below, or submit your suggestions privately.

Let us know what you'd like us to build!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Perhaps a "like" to "posts" ratio percentage ... (You already have the "like" and "posts" data, and this figure could help some folks up their game as to the quality of their contributions... e.g. nobody would want a ratio of 0.07 posts to likes! ;)) Just a thought...

90%+ of my "posts" were for auctions where there are no like buttons. So a ratio of real comment posts and excluding the auction posts would be even better. I saw people who have 3000+ posts but 500 likes. 2900 posts where in the auction section. So for 100 (3000-2900) real comment posts in this example in the thread sections the ratio would be 100 posts generated 500 likes, etc. wich actually is a much higher ratio and that person actually contributes better quality "posts".

EDIT:

Or one suggestion add three parts, a "comment" a "posts" and a "likes" counter.

All to differentiate between auction posts and thread comments where there is an actual like button.

Please do not submit the same suggestion more than once.

That feature is not too hard and it is doable, but every feature takes time and our time is being dedicated to other features at the moment. Once we finish those features, we will continue working on user suggestions.

Please "Like" the suggestions in this thread that you want to see implemented and we will consider their popularity when we decide on the next feature to work on.

Thanks for understanding,

how about making it compulsory for all moderators to sign their report reply we get in the alerts from them.. so we do not have to guess who we are talkign to .. in case there needs to be followup? :) ty.

Please add back the "new requests" filter on the domain names wanted section. It gets kind of messy when members keep bumping up old asking threads from months ago.

Thanks. :)

It's still there. It was moved to the sub-nav (underneath "Requests" in the navigation bar). ;)

Here's two more ways (these two work on all forums):
  • Click on the "Start Date" column in the table to sort it.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the table and select the sorting option under "Thread Display Options"

Hope that helps,

On that note, can we also get a snippet of the comment when they are deleted? I am usually unsure or very confused when a comment is deleted since I tend to comment a lot and have no clue which one or why it was deleted.

Another request:

I like how the "Alerts" page now highlights the new comments. Overnight, I typically have more than one page's worth of alerts and when I go to page 2, the highlighting is lost. Can the highlighting be retained for additional time until users have had a chance to look at the new alerts?

Update: We have recommended that mods include this when they feel comfortable doing so and they remember.

Usually, when a warning is issued, it includes the deleted comment, but if the moderator didn't feel it was necessary to issue an infraction for, only an alert is sent without further information. This is an unfortunate shortcoming of our forum software. However, you can request the full comment and explanation anytime by contacting customer support.

A little longer, yes, but not much longer. That's decided by our forum software. I've asked the dev team to add it when they have a chance, since it's quick.

Hope that helps,

Thanks. I've, fortunately, not received an infraction but sometimes comments are deleted as a thread goes off-topic or "thread cleanup" or when I've replied to a comment that was deemed worth deleting (with or without an infraction, I wouldn't know).

Thank you. I suspect you meant the highlight time of the Alerts dropdown in the top-right corner. If so, I wasn't clear. I actually meant on this page: https://www.namepros.com/account/alerts?page=2

If you did understand correctly, my apologies for misunderstanding your understanding :)

Can we get a link to the quoted post when someone quotes a post?
For example, in the quote below, a link to the original comment/post itself would be very useful for cross-referencing what someone was saying, especially context when only a part of the comment was quoted.

It's done. ;)

Hi,
I would like to suggest adding a count of the number of members posting on each thread, that way we can tell if the number of replies in a thread are caused because of real interest or caused by the member that started the thread bumping up.

For example:
Views: 234 replies: 12 members: 6 = interesting/has bids.

Views: 345 replies: 19 members: 1 = bumping/no bids.

@Eric Lyon, I'd like t suggest:

1. A centralized domain market place with historical data available on past sales consolidated on one sub-platform for the sake of convenience (instead of info being spread throughout disperse threads/links). The auction sub-site will become one of the largest repository of names congregated on one place. Among its features will be live auctions (as others suggested) and make offer bids. The auction/marketplace will have a curated list of higher quality names and the names from all walks of life (ie. from high brow to low brow in terms of quality).

2. A brokerage service replacing the calls for 'domains needed' section needed for own usage or for third parties. Users will make available for submissions names they would like to be brokered by other members (who already have buyers/end-users in sight) in return of sharing a part of profit. A self-nominated broker would then register to browse through the registry for an exact match.

Hello.

NamePros need to add 1% commission domain name auctions. Parties assume risk of fraud and rely on user trade reviews.

Domain names that are auctioned are to be selected. We can do it for a fee, if you need our service.

Kind regards,

DomainNameBroker.com

Subtract the posts in Break Room / Contests to get rid of the post padding and buddies liking each others posts to increase Likes artificially.

It may or may not be possible but I think it makes it harder to tell who really contributes and who is a poser.

An escrow service to be run by namepro's stuff for member-member transactions in domain selling.

If it were possible to recalibrate in a fair manner to more accurately reflect a members participation and quality of contribution, that would be something I would support. Also before my time, there was not the same like and thank system, so some veteran members actually would have more positive like to post count ratios which skews their contributions in a negative way.

What happened to the "Areas" tab? At least you could look at a members profile and do the math for a rough estimate of their post content. @Paul Buonopane @Eric Lyon when did the Areas tab disappear?
