RE: Autonomous & Driverless car domains

Seems like there's a lot of news lately, as recently as the last few days, of advances in driverless & autonomous cars. There are multiple auto makers getting ready to launch some form of these cars, and of course, Google is working on their project car.

I have a handful of domains related to this news & technology, and I am wondering if anybody else has any? Also, any spike in traffic to your domains, or news of sales???

With over 77 Autonomous / Selfdriving domain names in my portfolio, AutonomousShop (.com) is my favourite and I was looking forward to getting Autonomous .Shop as well, but the $300 per year extension renewal price stoped me from thinking twice. I'm not surprised to notice Autonomous .shop taken.

Just that it will take more years for selfdriving/autonomous shop to mature

Alphabet Inks Deal for Avis to Manage Self-Driving Car Fleet

Waymo, the self-driving car unit of Alphabet Inc., has reached an agreement for Avis Budget Group Inc. to manage its fleet of autonomous vehicles. It’s the first such deal in a field that’s still fledgling but exploding with partnerships. Avis shares surged.

The rental car firm will service and store Waymo’s Chrysler Pacifica minivans in Phoenix, where the parent of Google is testing a ride-hailing service with volunteer members of the public. Waymo will own the vehicles and pay Avis for its service, an arrangement that is set for multiple years but not exclusive. The companies would not share financial terms.

Autonomous vehicles should operate in shared fleets & integrate with public transport says UITP

According to a new paper published by the UITP (the International Association of Public Transport), autonomous vehicles should be put to use in shared fleets and integrate with traditional public transport in order to reduce cars on the road.
The UITP paper, ‘Autonomous vehicles: a potential game changer for urban mobility,’ found if autonomous vehicles (AVs) are put to use in shared fleets as ‘robo-taxis,’ mini-buses or in car-sharing fleets, they could dramatically reduce the number of cars on the road by reaching people and places too difficult before, helping to plug first/last-mile gaps and feed into public transport trunk lines.
The UITP believes shared fleets, integrated with traditional public transport offers the possibility of a better urban future, cutting noise and environmental pollution, improving traffic efficiency and parking and in the process liberating vast amounts of urban space for other purposes.

Autonomous Grocery Vans Are Making Deliveries in London

Fire up an app, order some groceries, and get them delivered to your door. So far, so normal, thanks to the likes of Amazon Fresh and Instacart. But in one part of London, that kind of delivery is currently being made by a self-driving van.

The deliveries are made possible by a vehicle called CargoPod, which was developed by Oxbotica, an autonomous-vehicle spinoff of the University of Oxford, and makes use of the online grocery retailer Ocado’s infrastructure. It’s a small electric vehicle decked out with lidar sensors and stereo cameras, which uses Oxbotica’s autonomy software to sense obstacles and navigate roads without human intervention. (Though, as in America, British law still requires a human safety driver behind the wheel.)
