While recovering from the past weekend of scattered deals and in anticipation of the next SuperSale, I am weary of having several threads related to the SuperSales at Domain - MyDomain - NetFirms - Dotster.

Since the promos often work at more than one reseller, I would love to have a single thread to watch and participate in, if you agree, hang out here and watch this thread!

All NPers are welcome to post coupons and promos here as long as they are Domain - MyDomain - NetFirms - Dotster. That way we all have a better chance at awesome savings as soon as the promos are live!

The usernamex Guide to SuperSales

SuperSales are promotions done by the family of registrars under Domain.com, including MyDomain.com NetFirms.com Dotster.com

About every 10 days to two weeks, one or more of these registrars runs what I like to call SuperSales - with dot COM / NET domain registrations for bargain prices, $1.99 - $2.99 - $3.99. Sometimes the specials are good for multi-year registrations, sometimes only the first year is discounted.

The super fun part is they let you use coupons ON TOP of the promo, so there have been specials as low as $1.39, $1.59 is more common, and $1.99 is still great any time!

If you are new, the best choice is usually MyDomain, since their renewals are second best (to Domain) and I have not seen the $1.99 special ever offered at Domain direct

A great way to get an account set up is NOT during the frenzy of the SuperSales, and a trick you can use without having to contact support is to buy the easiest to type/remember cheapest domain you can, like whatever ngTLD is on sale for $1.99, that will be your username. You can drop the domain after a year and your account will be fine. Otherwise get on chat and they can set you up ahead of time without having to make a purchase.

To make it easy for everyone, if you can BOLD any coupon codes, that would be super, and if you tested coupons successfully, please mention the reseller where you tested.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
GROWTH also works on Mydomain and Domain .com. Have not checked with GARDEN yet.

All EIG group codes work on their sister websites, I just wrote those dotster and netfirms to show from which one I received the code

They don't always work for all EIG group out of this 4 comapnies, especially domain.com Also, outside of these 4 registrars, EIG own's at least another 20-30 companies dealing with registrations.

Helpful Hints
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Easy as Pie DomFam PUSH method - Domain/MyDomain/NetFirms/Dotster
TL:DR version
1] SELLER changes whois to Buyers whois contact info in Sellers control panel, can be done for single domain or in bulk.
2] BUYER verifies whois change by email. Seller not required to do any whois verification.
3] SELLER gets on chat and requests names be removed from sellers account, wait for chat to confirm removed.
4] BUYER uses "Add Existing" to add the name to their control panel, refresh Domain Central, name is pushed.
This method only requires SELLER to know their own security answer to provide to chat in step 3 AND does NOT require the buyer to have to update whois after the push is completed.
IMPORTANT EDIT: Be sure to OPT-OUT of the 60 Day Change Of Owner Lock when changing to the BUYERS contact info. It's a checkbox that is OPT-OUT by default, just be sure not to uncheck it!
Here's the posts that share how to either move without paying and adding time to the expiration date from one sibling to another
*OR*
move AND pay for transfer (coupons allowed) and extend the expiration from one sibling to another
I just tested it myself the past day or so - Super Kudos to @33S and @thedotsol for the detailed instructions!
Key points are you must get Auth Code AND make sure domain is UNLOCKED BEFORE asking support to remove it from originating account (I goofed that part)
You can transfer domains between domain.com companies.
Get the domains's auth. code, contact support and ask them to remove the domain form your acct. Then you go to domain.com transfer page, enter the domain with the code, pay for the transfer and it will be transferred super fast.
You should do exactly what 33S proposed. If you do not remove your domains from existing account, you can't add them at another registrar. So you have to remove them first (ask support for that) and then you can choose if you want to add using transfer with auth code option, or just to add them without extending a year. I've already done both options.
Same way I would transfer from any other registrar out of this family, except I would firstly ask support from my existing registrar to remove domain from my account.
Than I would go at the receiving registrar (personally I prefer main one, Domain.com) and do the following:
1. Within domain central click on add existing and type the domain I want to transfer
2. Then I would find it among my names and click on more info
3. Then click on transfer (already selected)
4. Then enter auth code
5. Then purchase credit (only option available)
6. On the next screen it was available to put a discount code same as when you registering a domain
That's it.
In addition to the previous method, there is another way which allows you to transfer in bulk. You chose registrar transfer in the drop down menu and then just follow the instructions (you should add domain, space, auth code per line).
Than when you go to purchase credits and to apply your coupon, it would be applied for all domains you want to transfer.
Transfer available on Netfirms
I just started a transfer for 20 domains from Dotster to Netfirms. Total cost $63.8 using code GROWTH.
Requires some work though, first collecting all EPP codes, than waiting for Dotster live chat for about 10 minutes, removing names from Dotster, than adding names at Netfirms (using bulk option). But overall it saves me more than $100 in compare to some other cheaper transfer options.
NetFirms transfer for dot NET not working - anyone else try this or everyone is just doing dot COMs? Not asking support since pretty sure this is a glitch and I don't wanna tip them off : grin :
Perfectly happy with COM transfers if that is all that works this time.
