This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
congrats

outbound or inbound?

Sold on Sedo. I tend to be lazy and stick everything on Sedo. Sold i think to a Chinese investment company i think. Had it listed as a make offer and I was tempted to ask more but have been out of the game for a while so wasn't sure how the market was.

Yes, it's seems a bit strange. I have only sold a handful of domains since I started but on 4 out of 5 domains, the new owners have already set up their sites. The last one still has my whois and ParkingCrew which I used for nameservers. Why, I don't know, but my guess is that it's a domainer that is satisfied as long as he got the domain in his account.

I don't want to start doubting people here, but it's strange that 10/11 of the sales (that I've checked) go back to UniRegistry or Parkingcrew, even months after they were reported here.

EDIT:
Hope I don't piss you off @Federer, it might be a coincidence. Maybe they aren't in a hurry to set the pages up. Of course I want to believe the sales are real, so I apologize in advance if my doubts are
inaccurate..

The second domain I sold last year was still showing my whois info at the end of the year. And I have another one that I sold in August, and cannot finish transferring because no one will email me back about their GD account or different registrar account info. Those are the only two instances I have.

Yes escrow is complete. Domain transferred to new owner.

The auction on godaddy was me selling the name (my auction). I usually try GoDaddy prior to selling on flippa as it's a cheaper option for upgrades. I should add that my auctionnon godaddy didn't go above $300

I purchased the name on sedo early this month
Nice name, did you purchase it via sedo auction or BIN? Also did you add upgrades to your flippa auction?

Domain: T-U/.COM
Sale price: $2,125 on GD auctions.

Not much profit here and shouldn't have sold it . I actually thought the auction would close for atleast $3,000 so I put the reserve at $2,000.

didn't know you liked to start them with gd auctions testrun.. do you mind saying, when you do that, do you normally pay extra for any upgrades.. I think its like bold name and homepage view.. I don't think they offer others.. max $30 I think.. just wondering if those can be of much help when comes to exposures...

you obviously testrun them there on gd with reserves right?

not a bad idea to get taste of market value... gd gets far more exposure than flippa.

cheers

I didn't get paid yet. They will pay around 15th next month. Buyer paid for the domain. So this is a confirmed sale.

Yes I test with a reserve.. I've found that GD auctions is best for short names 4 letters or less.
