Efty Marketplace Example

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Today I signed up for the EFTY 30-day trial to test the look and landing page customization feastures. I already have a portfolo on another site. I was just curious what other domainers have done to see what features are available etc. I did notice it did not automatically upload my .TV domains but it did look at WHOIS to find most of the others - even those which were expired. I decided to "not publish" most of the Spanish domains on this EFTY site. Anyone have some examples....

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Hey @Doron Vermaat ,

Could you consider letting us add not only custom categories, but also edit the category pages, by being able to add custom h1\heading tags and custom description text.

Thanks :)

This would be difficult considering how categories are soon going to be linked to landers (there will be one for each category!) but allowing users to add their own categories is something we will look into for sure.

I am liking the marketplace pages and I may also use nameserver.io to use those as landers rather than the default landers. Giving it a try today, not sure if I have to use the {{TLD}} on the end of the string though, will know in a few hours I guess.

Let us know how you get on with that. If it works this might be a very useful tool for others looking to do the same.

Good share Grilled. Looks like this service can help out with mass forwarding of domains. I haven't tried it myself however so if anyone can share experiences with it that would be nice.

How to mass forward domains to Efty with Nameserver.io

Go to Nameserver.io and simply type the following in the "Where to redirect" field:

http://YourMarketplaceName.com/domain/{{DOMAIN}}

You only replace the blue text with your marketplace name, the red text you leave as is (do not put your target domain instead of {{DOMAIN}}, it will be replaced automatically by Nameserver.io).

An example for Doron's marketplace: http://NameRockstar.com/domain/{{DOMAIN}}

After adding this to the field, you'll get 2 custom nameservers which you can add to all your domains at your registrar (bulk nameserver change is not a problem for most registrars). That's it. All domains will redirect to their exact efty page.

You can mass forward as many domain names as you like with this method.

It would be a nice option to have to simply select whether your domain goes to it's own lander or the lander on your marketplace. I imagine it wouldn't take too much work to add this to the Efty NS set-up, so maybe we might see this in future?

NO joy yet, I changed the nameserver yesterday and normally on GoDaddy the changes are real quick. I have forwarded some of my names manually for now until the changes kick in and confirmed working.

I am not sure how far efty marketplace supports SEO...
1: can't add content on landing page
2:my site score on SEO point of view is less
4: need privacy policy and other terms page

I think @Doron Vermaat will be looking to add these features soon. You can add custom text to the individual domains and home page but not yet the cat pages. Would be something to consider too.

It is early still but I see good things with Efty going forward :)

I have noticed that not all the categories are shown, only 10 of them (on the homepage). Is this by design?

Are you using more than 10 categories?
I think its just the categories you are currently using/have domains in are shown.

I'll ask Lionel to look into that.

Looks great. I see your marketplace logo currently is 190 x 60 pixels. We allow logos to be 300 x 80 big so I suggest you upload a larger version. I think it will look better.

1. You can add text to each landing page by updating the Profile field of the domain within Efty. You can find this field under the Marketing tab of the domain.
2. Can you elaborate on that a bit?
3. Good suggestion. We're planning to add a "About us" page and I will see if we can include a page a with a PP and terms added as well.

I have noticed that not all the categories are shown, only 10 of them (on the homepage). Is this by design?

The designs show the top 10 categories - based on the number of domains in each category.

We have a big update planned next week with regards to For-Sale landing pages and we will focus our development time on the marketplace again for the remainder of October. Expect some improvements and nice new functionalities soon!

I signed up for efty a couple weeks ago and have been slowly migrating my domains and setting up my marketplace. So far so good...

I'm ready to start uploading logos and have been shopping around on fiverr for a designer. I don't know much about graphic design and am using the specifications from elsewhere in this thread:
300x80 pixels is the required format for logos across Efty (For-Sale landing pages and marketplace). JPEG, GIF or PNG and max 1MB.
I'm going to need a lot of them so I need to keep it cheap. There seem to be a lot of $5 deals - some are 2 logos for $5 (even better..!) But the cheaper deals don't include vector and source files. Are these necessary (or recommended)? What about high resolution and transparency?

Many thanks!

If you want to edit or resize the logos you'll need the vector versions along with the downsized one for online use. For $5 I doubt you'll find the full package anywhere.

If you want them free you can try Logaster and just use the small file.

If you need the full set of files you'll have to look around for the best deal and designer. You can probably get a designer you like and then just order as many as you need and they'll like the repeat work.

You can check here on NP and other sites until you find what you like.

This advice is in general and not necessarily just for Efty however.

How are you getting on?

I have some experience creating logos for my own marketplace and I am about to start offering a logo design service for other efty marketplace owners.

I am currently in the process of creating a portfolio of the different styles we can offer, from plain text to 'brandbucket' / 'brandroot' style logos.

Reasonable pricing for other NP members $1 - $5 dollars per logo. Based on order quantity and your specific requirements.

I will be creating a thread later on in the week, displaying the different styles and our pricing structure.

For now if you or anybody else is interested, contact me by pm so we can discuss further. I will be happy to send over some logo designs or prepare a sample batch using your names.

***DISCLAIMER***
I would just like to make it clear I am in no way affiliated with efty besides being a user of their service myself.

If you are wondering where the link to my marketplace is?
It's coming very soon!

Just keep the logos pleasant and simple, you could do them yourself.

I plan on getting logos done for all my names eventually, the added color on the page(s) really helps give the viewer a better experience imo.

I have some names on BB, NR, and Bdo, but haven't sold any yet. Do most buyers want/expect to get the logo too? Seems like it could be a nice perk. Does the buyer need the vector and source files in order to make use of the logo?

Most buyers will tend to use their own logo. But if they do use your logo you will need to provide the source files.

Might be a silly question, but I cannot find it...

How are some of you adding the custom text to the right side of the top header?

Thanks,

For me, the designs are great and I'm sure they will be able to improve many things, especially in the way of how you present the entire negotiation to the potential buyer, like. " where his money goes ", " who ensures the delivery of the property " something like,( for your peace of mind )

Also :

Some kind of link or extra page to the whois. (Mandatory)

Domain Age. (Optional)

Backlinks (Optional)

Monthly search (Optional)

Visitors Counter (Optional)

And then, EFTY consecrates such as the next generation of domain portfolio.

Noob question: what is the difference between a "source" file and a "vector" file?

The small file doesn't really work. It can't be re-sized, as far as I can tell, and has the Logaster name on it.

Yes it is a smaller logo but you can possibly modify it to cut the edge off. I don't know their terms and conditions so that may or may not be allowed.
