It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I checked DOLF - and I don't see any .PRO-suggestion at GoDaddy.
This domain is available.

Check just keywords... without any TLD and without pro-suffix/prefix...
And you will see that .PRO is completely ignored by stupid GoDaddy.

And we don't need any .PROmotion within this forum (among domainers)...
We need endusers! That's why Registrars are MANDATORY!

:!:The post I published at LinkedIn was specifically targeting professional, business minded end users. It's purpose was to sell the sizzle of .PRO to non-domainers. The post I made on this forum specifically requested assistance from within this forum in getting the .PRO word out to the general business community.

Although I am not at liberty to disclose the buyer, that LinkedIn post led directly to the sale of one .PRO domain that perfectly describes the core business in which this buyer is involved.

Thank you for a nice trade of names! I hope (and think) we both can benefit from it!
I agree, my respect!
Thanks for Profile!

I wish you good luck with these, but German word usually don't sell well under .pro. In fact, .pro nearly is unknown in Germany since it was so restricted.

I once had some Germany .pro domains but could only sell top domains like anwalt.pro or aktien.pro. I already let most of the others expire (for instance, fussball.pro now ist taken by some other domainer but still not active).

I see your domains as a complete waste of money, sorry.

Interesting - do you remember maybe about when and for about how much you sold the domain aktien.pro and was it a sale through SEDO?

Since February WHOIS doesn't work at all for .PRO-domains at who.is
Notified them a few minutes ago...

p.s. I don't need it but many endusers are using their service...

Don't drop it.
Because it will be automatically RESERVED FOREVER (due to the NEW Agreement with ICANN).

I haven't read the policy yet.

Who benefits from "Reserved Forever"? Is this only for .pro ?

Does this mean the names will not re-appear for new registrants?

Thanks,

No, this is NOT only for .PRO
Yes, they are prohibited for further registration.

I just made a list, these are the German .pro names I sold over the past years:

Aktien.pro: 400.- EUR in 2012
Anwalt.pro: 3,500.- EUR in 2013 (by far the best!)
bilder.pro: 800.- EUR in 2012
Kanzlei.pro: 300.- EUR in 2014
Kunst.pro: 1,200.- US-$ in 2010
Makler.pro: 100.- EUR in 2013
Werbung.pro: 490.- EUR in 2013
Wetter.pro: 300.- EUR in 2013

So, of course, there are some sales. But it's not overwhelming. And my impression is that .pro really is mostly unknown in Germany; the German market isn't small, but we rather stick to .de, .net, .info or .eu (yes, the latter two are by far better known than .pro).

And then come the new gTLDs. I must say that I get less offers than up to two years ago.

But maybe that's related to the fact that I don't do invest much in promoting my domains. I usually just put them on Sedo and wait for offers. I could have made probably much more money with these domains, but on the other side, I have a full time job, a family, a house, and not enough time in general. So domaining is more or less a hobby for me.

Thanks for your detailed answer and all the best with your invest / job / family / house / time...

The advantage for german language market is, that 'pro' is also in german language the abbrevation for the german term 'professionell' ('professinal'), as you know of course.

Interesting, until now I didn't know that there is a city in south africa called HANOVER - I only knew the german city HANNOVER.

I get significantly more offers than in 2015 or 2014...
And I don't promote them at all... and don't use any marketplaces.
