Well, I don't mean .Guru a competitor to .Com.

I agree that .COM will always be the king. But just becoz .COM is the king, we shouldn't ignore other good domains. Now is the time to cherry pick good .Guru domains.

The best Guru domain you have for sale is Host.Guru. That is one that I would hold onto. Why are you so eager to sell these names? Why not develop them?

There's a domain including the world guru that is over priced -10K+
domain is made up of 1 word + guru .com

should i buy that >1 word< .guru domain ?

If you want to develop it.. maybe..

If the .com is selling for $10k the .guru is worth almost nothing.. From my point of view.

Guru means teacher. Guru's are highly respectable in India. Other than India, Guru means Expert.
Some very relevant word .GURU will have some value, else its total waste of money.
Although wait for another 3-4 Months to get a clear picture on .GURU
Last week i had chance to Reg 111,222,333,444,555 .GURU but i stayed away from them.
Saved money!

I am surprised, too, although .guru seems to be a domainer's gTLD.

The question: is this extension going to gain traction with the general public, the end user? I'm not sure. The average corporate CEO may balk at using .guru. Younger ones might embrace it (depending on kind of business), but "Wall Street Walter" is likely going to shy away.

The success of these is going to depend on mass registrations. There is a bit of a paradox here: the release of these gTLDs is going to make the general public aware of them, but the sheer numbers being released are going to dilute the space significantly. A few gTLDs may rise out of the pile, and I'm just not sure .guru will be one of them.

But I tend to overthink things, and I have been wrong before, so don't use my opinion has a barometer of anything.

:)

I wish everyone well!

I have a bit of skin in this game (not .guru, though).

on the dj list I see tire guru ~5k and two ~1k vdi.guru and metadata.guru

I think dot guru was:

a) first out of the starting gate

b) well email campaigned by the registries

Gave me the idea to register VertCoin.Guru, but already taken.

I own 232 Vertcoin by the way, potentially a life changing investment.

Most affordable .GURUs?

Guys, could you please advise which registrar(-s) offers the cheapest .GURU registrations?

I think about getting one or two, but that's for fun mostly, so would prefer not to spend much.

Thanx, was out for 2-3 days. Host .com has 497+ bids on Sedo and is the "top" of sedo topdomains. Let's see what Host .guru sells for.

Developing takes time and focus off domaining, that's why I prefer just buying domains for now. :)

I think .guru TLD buyers are common man and not companies, so resale value is less compared to other gtlds

Everyone must be busily developing their category-killer .guru domains.

These are exciting times.
