The domain names I've won on auctions WHOIS information does not update after the transfer to my account and they still show this wrong data:

This is big no-no for me as a domain investor since the potential buyers will think that this name is not active and they cannot contact me.

How long after the purchase is this? I've purchased domains on their auctions and the WhoIs updated correctly.

Yes, they're from Dynadot auctions.

Some have been 1-2 weeks. Some of them are still not showing my WHOIS information even though it had been a few months. I recently became aware of the situation.

No worries! You can list the domain with either BIN, Make Offer, or both! At this time we don't provide the IP the lead came from.

For these types of sales there are no brokers involved, the domain is listed and sold directly through our marketplace.

We do have a brokerage service called our "Make an Offer" service though, and our brokers can connect you with Domain owners at Dynadot and abroad! If you see a domain in our search bar that's taken, hit the "Make an Offer" button and our team will connect you with the owner for discussion of purchasing the domain.

Great question! The transfer fee will be paid by the buyer when the purchase is successful.

It doesn't works properly. I wasted 2 days adding domains support dont know own products and dont clue. Dynadot.com make fake promotional via domainers regarding this option. Because no landing pages for those domains .

Without landing page this future is worst .

Dynadot.com should make more detailed promotional. I am angry.

@calebdynadot Thanks for the information posted earlier re the open marketplace initiative at Dynadot. I've only tried it yet with one domain name, but have a few questions that I think would be of interest to others, so posting here.

(1) I tried both the TXT and Nameserver verification methods, and it was very slow (many many hours) to verify either way. It did eventually verify. I had checked with a third party tool that the records/nameservers had updated quickly. Do you have suggestions on how to make verification faster, or have a suggestion regarding which of the three methods is likely to verify fastest? In most cases Afternic, Dan, SquadHelp white label, and Sedo all verify for me, using the TXT method, in minute(s). Why so many hours at Dynadot? If I set the TXT records say an hour before I try listing the name at Dynadot will that help? With Sedo it is faster if you do it in that order.

(2) I did ultimately go with nameserver verification, and it verified, and I then listed it for sale, and it is in your marketplace. I left the nameservers at my registrar pointing to Dynadot, thinking that would point to either a marketplace lander or marketplace listing at Dynadot. But it seems not. Am I correct that externally registered names do not have landers at Dynadot? I do realize that I could use forwarding at my registrar to point to the marketplace listing: https://www.dynadot.com/market/user-listings/EXAMPLE.com but would rather have a direct lander.

(3) It seems you can with the TXT verification change the code. Is it really true that every domain name has a different TXT verification code, as opposed to one code for all of the names for me as a user (the way Sedo, SH, Dan, Afternic do it). This really slows the process of getting names listed.

(4) On the marketplace listing, is there a good reason why there is a link to Alexa at the bottom, since Alexa (even if the service was still around as a website popularity rating) would only have meaning for already developed names, surely a small minority of all names for sale on the marketplace? I don't understand the Google cache link purpose either. I guess the archive could be useful to see past use of the name. Is there a way to turn these off in your listings?

(5) I have come to like the AI-written descriptions for names I list for sale that are registered at Dynadot. Are there any future plans to extend AI-description option to externally registered names in your open marketplace?

(6) Assuming that there is not / will not be a lander option, am I correct that after verification I can change the nameservers at my registrar and Dynadot verification will remain?

Despite my questions, I am enthusiastic that you are offering an open marketplace. For example, since you accept payment in various currencies, including CDN $, I have interest in listing my .ca names that are registered elsewhere on your marketplace, but want to optimize the process before I make the effort.

The majority of my names are already registered at Dynadot, and I have used your marketplace extensively, and it is handy to be able to also include names not registered at Dynadot.

PS I hope that the answer to my question re slow verification is just that the early days the system was overwhelmed by a lot of users adding many names, and that it will get fast soon. If that is so, I will simply wait a week or two to list the 150 names I would like to get in the Dynadot marketplace. Generally I find Dynadot very solid and efficient technically, and so can't immediately see why verification should be slower than at competitors.

PPS I did now try for 4 more names with the nameserver verification method, including changing the nameservers at the registrar first, wait 6+ hours, then add them to Dynadot external for verification. At least for these 4 trial domains, that did not seem to speed up verification. I am now at about hour 7 hr wait since adding and still all unverified.

Hi Bob, Currently checking with my engineers into why the verification is taking so long with NS or DNS, as it SHOULD be fairly congruous with the domains propagation!

Landers should work for Domains using NameServers, regardless of whether they are on the Open Market or not, I'll have the team check into that as well.

At the moment it currently works that way, but I could see how having it be the same TXT for every domain could be helpful! I'll send that forward to the team for consideration.

There isn't currently a way to switch those off, do you consider them a detriment to the page? If so I can check about adding a way to switch them off.

Glad you're enjoying the AI tool, it's been one of our favourites as well. We have been looking at adding more tools and uses for AI for selling domains so stay tuned for those!

As mentioned above the Landing Page SHOULD be active usually for domains using NS, but that should be rectified soon. To make sure the domains are verified we do still require the NS or DNS be active on the domains for the verification to be considered valid.

I apologize for the issues we're currently running into, I will update this thread once the Verification times/Landing pages have been corrected.

It appears that Dynadot finally started to offer bankwire payouts. Fine, time to start actively using the marketplace then

However:
1) https://www.dynadot.com/community/help/question/payout-policy says:

• Please request a refund to the original payment method if the order is still eligible for a refund.

Does it mean that if I renewed a bunch of domains yesterday (paid via CC), and sold a domain today, then Dynadot will not send a bankwire, but issue a (partial) refund of a recent *unrelated* CC purchase? While this may be convinient in some cases, there are other cases (accounting) - I spent $$$ yesterday and it is one transaction, and received $$$ today - another transaction. Messing up accounting is a big NO. Please make this feature optional.

2) Bankwire request form includes a field for beneficiary bank SWIFT, which is what it should be. As a matter of fact, international wires travel via 1 or more intermediate banks. Which is why it is useful to include intermediate (corresponding) bank SWIFT to make sure that the wire will be routed correctly. If it is not done, sending bank will try to determine the route on its end, and this process is not always successful or optimal. Please add an optinonal field for intermediate bank details (applicable for international wires only).

3) Bankwire request form seems to offer currency selection. Does it mean that I can be paid in lets say Euros for sales in USD, and, if so, what exchange rate will be used?

4) In some cases, I receive communications from potential buyers and send them to appropriate marketplace to finalize the purchase. To let me serve these buyers better, please clarify - buyers from what countries (states, territories) - if any - are subject to additional taxes if they purchase aftermarket domains @ dynadot ? EU VAT, Canadian GST, sales taxes, etc...

As an update, I successfully used the TXT verification method on a name today that verified quickly [within minutes] (well quickly after I used the correct TXT code ) This was a different TLD (this was a new TLD from Identity Digital) and registrar (Spaceship in this case), so not sure if it is something Dynadot improved, or that verification is fast sometimes depending on other parameters. I will try some others later today. Life would be so much simpler if you had one TXT code per Dynadot account, rather than one code per domain name. I

Landers should work for Domains using NameServers, regardless of whether they are on the Open Market or not,

The problem (still) is that for externally-registered and verified names when you go to list them for sale the use Dynadot landers option (that is normally there for Dynadot registered names) simply does not appear. So there is no way the lister can choose it, so no lander page appears.

Same thing, the Ask AI option is not there to choose. I am not sure if that is intentional, but would definitely be nice to have AI-generated descriptions on the listings, for those that want them.

I think anything that adds confusion for a potential buyer is bad. For example, the Alexa link just takes people to a page selling Amazon services. Even if it did provide data, it would be confusing, since any name that has not been developed will not rank, of course. The potential buyer might think, oh, there must be something defective with the name, whereas it is simply that the data is not relevant to names that were never developed. The data would be relevant for wholesale buyers of developed names, who might want to know if the name had any SEO juice from past development, but otherwise seems to me just confusing.

Thank you @calebdynadot - I see that it is now one TXT verification record for all of one owner's domains, which makes it much simpler.

Also, I just tried 6 more domain names using TXT verification and all verified quickly (within the minute).
