Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Just switched some domains to Sedo name servers ns1/ns2 sedoparking.com

Some domains get a message 'This site can't provide a secure connection' !?

Others resolve to some weird site findsomethingonline .com

Most don't load at all !?

How long does it normally take to switch over after changing name servers, am I using the right name servers ?

Hello, Thank you for your message.

Did you check if the domain you mentioned, findsomethingonline.com, is registered? If not, this may be causing a problem.

If you are looking to park the domain, you can use the nameservers NS1.SEDOPARKING.COM and NS2.SEDOPARKING.COM. Alternatively, if you want to set up sales landers, you should use the nameservers sl1.sedo.com and sl2.sedo.com. Please note that it may take up to 72 hours for the new pages to fully resolve.

If you have any issues with additional domains, please feel free to reach out to us by sending an email to [email protected] from the email associated with your account. Our team will be happy to assist you further.

Kind regards
Your Sedo Team

As I read it, Sedo is redirecting to that domain (zero click).

And indeed, it's not registered.

'findresultsonline.com' what on earth is that all about !?

I thought NS1/NS2 was for sales landers !?

Simply ask Sedo Support to turn off Zero Click landers in your account.

@Sedo Will there be a time that Zero Click Parking can be disabled by the user in account settings? It's a pretty nasty phenomenon and sometimes redirects to infected sites, or as you can see in this case, unregistered domain names.

In case anyone else is confused (probably just me !?) & you are getting the 'findresultsonline.com' page instead of the lander when using NS1/NS2 sedoparking.com

1: Log in
2: Click on 'My Sedo'
3: My domains
4: Change your view (top of the page): Select 'Parking Optimization'
5: Tick the check box to the left of the domain you wish to edit
6: In the 'layout column' click on the edit pencil icon to the right of 'Auto select'
7: Click on 'sales lander v2 seller' (or whichever version you want)
8: Click ok

Thanks to Sedo support for the quick response

No, I have not tried it, but would love to do so if there was a way to make certain that there were added checks in their system. If Dynadot could make this possible, that could be a real game-changer for them.

Sedo responded earlier that they do not recommend the BIN at multiple marketplaces. Nonetheless, isn't there a way that a registar could make this possible? They would ultimately know, up to the minute, whether or not the domain has been sold or transferred. The potential would be eliminated for the rare case where mutliple sales happening at the same. And this could be more of a motivation for each marketplace to help promote the sale, as they would be competing to get the commission.

Hi,

Often the zero click ads will be disabled automatically by completing the premium parking certification. To complete your premium parking certification, log into your account and go to “My Account” and then “Certification”. After setting the premium status, you should see the premium ads from google instead of the zero click ads. If you continue to see the zero click ads, we can disable the redirects for you.

If ads are leading to dodgy or unwanted sites, please let us know. Simply send an email to [email protected].

DEAR SEDO,

I have been a long time customer of Sedo (about 12 years).... and I just love SEDO!!! however, I have not used Sedo in over a year since I move my some 300 domains around, back and forth, to different parking and selling platforms.

I have an Efty account, which is really great! and Efty has this nifty integration function with Sedo, so now I can be listed on Efty and Sedo.... how cool is that! HAPPY DANCE!!!!

OOPS, but wait!!! Sedo is forcing me to list with 10-20 30 other companies!!! Gees I cannot keep track of where my domains are!

AND we """customers""" can not opt out of the MLS function.

I want control of when and where my domains are posted for sale.
I want choose who I do business with.

I am greatly disappointed and just totally upset..... beyond frustrated because we customers are now being forced into using Sedo's MLS function.... I do not want my domains listed elsewhere.

Sedo is forcing customers to take it or leave it.....
So now, I am very sad.

Please listen to your customers and give us a choice to opt out of the MLS function!

So I can do a BIG HAPPY DANCE and get to love SEDO and it's me bragging about how great SEDO is!!

Hello,

Thank you for your message.
We place a high value on feedback and customers satisfaction.

Our Multi Listing Service is designed to help sellers promote their domains and reach as many potential buyers as possible.

You could consider listing Domains as Make Offers instead of Buy It Now. If you list them as Make Offer, you have to accept the offer first. This flexibility will allow you to decide on which platform you would like to accept the offer and sell the domain on. So you are able to accept offers and sell domains that are received only through efty.

If you need further information or help, you can contact our support directly ([email protected]).

Kind regards
Your Sedo Team

Sedo, Thank you for the reply. This is very helpful.

I want to ensure I understand this....

You said, set the domains as "make offer".

Since I have to accept the offer, before any domain can be sold, the make offer allows me to control when - where - how to manage the domains. I hope I am making sense...

Would any of the mls platforms be able to change my make offer status and stick a dollar amount on it?

Would this option allow me to utilize Sedo's escrow functions?

and the commission fee is 20% is this correct?

:xf.smile:Thank you again for the help.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your follow up.

When you get an offer on a domain though SedoMLS, you are notified in your Sedo account under offers received. You have 7 days to accept or respond to an offer. You can review at that time where the offer was made from and the commission that will be applied should an agreement be reached.

We can confirm that SedoMLS Partners cannot change the listing type. It would not be possible for them to change a make offer listing to a buy now or vice versa.

Please note, Sedo is not an escrow service. We do provide a domain transfer service where the payment is held securely and the Sedo transfer team assists both parties in the secure transfer of the domain and funds. All agreements through Sedo are put into this process automatically.

Sedo commissions for make offer listings are 15% or 20% depending on how a domain sells. If your domain is sold through the SedoMLS network on an partner site, we charge a fee of 20% of the gross sale price. You can find a full break down on our price list page: https://sedo.com/us/what-we-offer/price-list/

If you need further information or help, please contact our support directly ([email protected]).

Warm regards,

What happened to the Sedo Escrow service that is mentioned several times in this About Us / Newsroom article?

@Sedo "Escrow" is mentioned on other parts of the Sedo website as well. Like here for example, in Dutch:

Hello,

We appreciate and thank you for your watchful eye and attention. The article is from 2005 and outdated. We will remove it and check the Terms of Use as well.

Thank you,
Your Sedo Team
So, Sedo offered escrow services in the past, but not anymore. What's the reason for not offering escrow any longer?

Also, check the translated pages on Sedo.com, like the Dutch page mentioned above, where you're still saying that escrow services are included with the transfer - that's not a page dated 2005, but also probably outdated.

Thanks.

Hello @Sedo Team

While doing a CSV Bulk Upload today (using "sync"), there are suddenly over 1,000 domains (out of 5,000 in the upload) in "pending ownership verification" status.

1681612489972.png

I'm used to seeing the "pending ownership verification" status while adding new domains to my Sedo portfolio, but all these domains had already been verified successfully a long time ago using my personal TXT record, and I'm doing a bulk upload on a daily basis. Why did all these domains suddenly get the "pending ownership verification" status, again? There was no whois change or domain transfer for these domains today.

On a second attempt shortly after, to see if a new upload maybe would override the status, I got an error "[E82] Failed to update domain, because it is locked for sale." for all these 1,036 domains.

As you can see, I've been using Bulk Upload a lot:

I've never experienced this before.

How can I fix this, without having to change DNS again for these 1,036 domains?

Hello,

It was decided to adapt the terminology to our international website appearance, i.e. to use transfer service instead of escrow service in all languages. Sedo's transfer service includes the seamless transfer of the domain ownership and secure notification of the purchase price.

You can find more details here: https://sedo.com/us/services/domain-transfer-service/

If you have a more specific question about our transfer including our payment service, please contact our support directly ([email protected]).

Thank you for bringing to our attention the articles that still contain the outdated term. We will remove them.

Warm regards,
Your Sedo Team

Hello,

Thank you for alerting us to this issue.

It seems that either the domains have been deleted from your account for some reason or that there is a temporary problem with the bulk uploader. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with a solution for the issue without looking at your Sedo account and determining the issue at hand.

Could you please write to our Customer Care Team via mail to [email protected] so that we can look into the issue for you and provide you with a solution to your case?

Best regards,
Your Sedo Team

Thank you, I see.

Lots of work to do, because you're still using this term everywhere. Using the term escrow while you're not an escrow may have legal implications in some jurisdictions.

On this InterNetX blog (your sister company, also part of IONOS Group SE) it states that free escrow service is included at Sedo.

And on this Sedo page about buying a .web domain it's also still present:

"We offer an escrow account for transactions so that your money is always in safe hands."

@Sedo
Two newbie questions:

a) from Sedo's Domain Parking Terms and Conditions: "You have the ability to discontinue the Domain Parking Service for any Domain"...
How can I discontinue the Parking Service (no advertising earnings) but still keep offering my domains for sale?

b) From Sedo Price List page:
"If your domain is then sold directly through the Sedo marketplace, we only charge 10% of the gross sale price as a sales fee.

Domains that you list for sale on the Sedo platform are automatically promoted through our SedoMLS-Network... If your domain is sold through the SedoMLS network on an partner site, we charge a fee of 20% of the gross sale price."

How can I de-list domains on sale from the SedoMLS-Network, offering them only on Sedo marketplace?
Because if I can't, then how can I know in advance where my domains will get sold i.e. how high the commission for me will be?

Thanks in advance

A Namepros member asked recently whether writing a good description makes a difference in terms of sales. Has Sedo noticed any increased sales associated with good descriptions on your marketplace landers? Also, are you noticing any increase in sales using the sl1/2 vs. the ns1/2 parking landers?
