It happened on 23rd Aug 2022 and this matter lasted almost one month without any process. Masterbucks.com declined my fund withdrawal and disabled the button of fund withdrawal. And I contacted Epik.com and got no further action even if Rob Monster got involved in it for two weeks. All the time I was told in email by management review.

What is wrong with Epik.com? Do you think it is normal to disable fund withdrawal? How can I get back my fund from Epik.com? Thanks for your suggestion.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Sold a name for $12 on NameLiquidate a few days ago. They have still not transferred my domain out of Porkbun to the buyer at Epik. Told me they are having an "issue".

Beware of "maintenance" and now "issues" at Epik!

Hello,

We are experiencing an issue that affects .com transfers.

Our engineers are aware and working to fix the issue as soon as possible.

We will notify you by email once it is fixed

Hello,

I hope you're doing well.

Unfortunately, the issue Raj communicated yesterday still hasn't been fixed, so the transfer hasn't been started as of right now.
Our system will start the transfer once the issue has been fixed.
We apologize for the delay.

Thank you. Have a great day ahead.

I can't get out of there soon enough!

Is this the result of Money problems, ICANN, Registries, tech issues or just trying to stop the bleeding with tourniquet?

It is completely unacceptable for an ICANN accredited registrar to be unable to carry out the most basic functions like registrations, renewals, and transfers.

This is putting anyone with domains at Epik at risk.

I would suggest anyone who is having these type of issues consider filing a complaint with ICANN -
https://www.icann.org/compliance/complaint

If IСANN accreditation disappears, Epik will cease to be a bank of names with its own repository.

What are the options for domains on verge of expiry and EPIK is not giving auth code? Nor renewing?

On Jan 12, I renewed my domains on Epik all went well and today transferred out domains which also went well.

Transferring OUT is not an issue. They don't need money to release names

I think it's time to buy some flowers for a funEral

Switched to plan Escape, registering and renewing non-Verisign items. All successful (manual). All that's left now in balance is an unusable 60 cents. So in case any of you still have something in E at this point, it would be advisable to waste them on non-Verisign items before some epik explosions happen.
I have $0.75 left. But I will fight for them 😂

It is hard to tell, as both have lengthy track records of being less than truthful.

As far as I know Rob is still the Chairman and majority shareholder. That is what the public records indicate.
It is odd to have the CEO in direct conflict with the majority shareholder.

I am not sure if Brian is trying to sabotage the company, is just incompetent, or both. Either way it seems like he came into a bad situation and took a flamethrower to it.

Looking at his history I don't see why he would have the business acumen to run a registrar. He appears to have no experience in the field, and it shows.

This problem has been going on for many months now with no resolution in sight. I think we are past the point where we can reasonably expect Epik to "do the right thing" on their own.

While negative reviews can be useful on venues like TrustPilot, they have no real weight.

Filing complaints with authorities like the Washington AG, ICANN, or others might be the only way to actually compel a resolution.

It's almost as if he takes joy out of dangling payments in front of people, then taking them away.

When someone can lie fluidly and habitually without regard to the consequences of their actions on others, it may be a sign of a problem that isn't going to fix itself.

It would be interesting to know how these two people even got to know each other.

It would be interesting to someday find out how this particular post turtle came to be.

All of the current operational issues - renewals, registrations and transfers-in - have one thing in common. Each of those operations requires the ability to maintain an operating balance with the registry in order to pay for them.

Remember when Royce initially lied his ass off to DomainNameWire, saying that he didn't like "the code" Epik was using for Masterbucks, as if he's some kind of software guru? Then, it slowly dribbles out of him that Masterbucks and Epik escrow were simply Ponzi schemes.

The odds of Epik's inability to perform functions which involve "paying the registry" arising from some technical problem instead of a financial one, are pretty slim.

Whoever enlisted Royce to pretend to run this thing had better inject some more cash if they want to protect whatever it is for which they need Epik to continue to operate.

HOW MUCH IS EPIK IN THE HOLE FOR AND HOW DID IT GET THERE?

Just the known customer debts are in the millions. One single customer is reportedly owed $1.5M+.
There is also the unknown customer debts.

There are likely debts owed to others as well.

The actual total amount is unknown.

I am skeptical that Epik even knows the actual amount, because of the commingling of funds and poor accounting.

Yes, isn't it amazing that these "technical" issues only pop-up when it comes to them actually having to spend real money.

It is a lot easier to stiff customers than a registry like Verisign.

If a registrar can't process registrations, renewals, transfers, etc. they are not really a registrar.
ICANN should take a look at their accreditation if they are unable to carry out these basic functions.

If the owed debt mentioned in the article posted upthread is close to what's actually owed it will come to that. They can't really offload a lot of their assets (besides domains) and their 'tangible' assets and goodwill isn't worth that kind of money.

Their ip space is worth some, although I think it belongs to rob rather than E.

Even their marketplace cannot be trusted at this point as they fail to transfer in your purchases. If you cancel, what are the odds you'll end up with account credit instead of a refund?

Wasn't RM looking for 35M earlier on through his investors website?

Anyway... Last batch of domains I have there will be transferred tonight or tomorrow.

Enough is enough.

Yes, that got messy. I dodged the bullet on Alpnames but a client of mine had a couple of hundred there which became a real ugly situation.

I usually buy one or 2/month from E, low xxx. Continued using them as there's buying opportunity. Sad to see that go.

By the looks of it things have been set in motion. I'd be surprised if they survive another year, if accurately reported.

At the end of the day, they have only themselves to blame. It's a pitty they drag along a great bunch of good people with them.
