Hey all figured with the recent .io 6 figure sale and the nice .xyz sale by a follow NP member. We should open a showcase and discussion thread here.

Metaverse is a fast growing keyword, term and niche! Let's share and discuss our name and news.

I've only got One to start with but its a GOOD one my favorite ending keyword on most names.

MetaverseHub.com

Welcome! :)

AltReality.xyz
Metaversum.xyz

Metauniversum.com
MVGambling.com
MVCasinos.com
MVLottery.com

MVCasinos.com could be big if the prefix MV takes off. Definitely a keeper.

I'll be honest with you guys. A few months ago I conceived of the idea of "MV" as an acronym on my own before discovering it was already being used and registered by early bird domainers. I regged about 20 MV names 3 months ago, including Glasses, Avatar, P*rno, Earth, blockchain and others. I am probably the first domainer to dive into this sub-niche the way I did, but @xr reality regged an MV domain (MVS*x dot com) way back in 2017. There are also even older registrations going back to 2014, and there are conversations archived online referring to the Metaverse as "MV" going as far back as the mid 2000s. There are more individuals using the term MV than there are companies, like 18 out of 20 (very rough estimate based on my previous research some months ago) but I have seen a nano sized handful professionals and projects use the term MV.

I think the term could catch on, but how likely is uncertain. One thing is for sure, Metaverse is a long word, so it would make sense to use MV, but length never got in the way of the success of Blockchain as a branding and marketing term. There were maybe 4 or 5 companies referring to it as "BC", but that acronym never caught on. So don't hold your breath for MV to be a bread winner. It's very plausible that it will not. Until we find out, I'm holding on to a few....let's see how it goes...

To the future 🥂

Namebio shows metaverse dot one selling for 20k which is pretty impressive to me. NB only shows 5 sales for "metaverse" without anything attached and 20k is the second highest. The venue shows DomainNameCloud.com which just goes to someone's DAN profile.

yep... guilty... my first 5fig sale since I do this
...2015.. them again how many 5fig sales can one expect on handregs only.. and i dont mean going back to 2005 or 2010 but 2015..

I'm glad it happened with metaverse.. .one is the only ngtld I "seriously" invest in.
or like for that matter... I sold also, tho more like undersold,
meta.,one for 5k couple yrs back..oh well done is done..

but honestly I think this name will be worth even more in future.. this is why for buyer it is more of an investment than spending..for certain domain buys...for many in fact.
it's not like money u spend in some fancy restaurant on food and all u get out of it is just a toilet session.

it may never be worth same as .io... com... but the niche is just starting.. top category killers have no room to go but up imo

I don't see MV for metaverse catching It doesn't flow well but buying a handful to speculate on wouldn't be a bad idea. Meta+Keyword.com and Keyword+Verse.com is where the true action will take place imo. Sure there will be a few Longtail metaverse names that sell well, but from experience short in these niches are always better. Just like 'virtual and 'vr' for virtual reality we're the bread winners for me and everyonein general. The space is growing so fast and the concepts behind the metaverse is so vast that many of us in this niche and the AR VR XR realm that it encompasses should do well. Sooo many Keywords can work.

I love longtail..no prob for me with metaverse plus.keyword....but com only

same for vr.. in fact my top vr sale.to date is longtail virtual.reality.stocks
at 7k

I still have cool longtails like bank..office.. restaurant... and 40 more.. definitely worth.renewing in my books..

metaverse plus keyword will do.just fine..all u need is no nonsense keywords.. same for vr... not sure about ar..xr..mr..if people reg longtails..if they sell em...

MV for Metaverse may or may not stick from a branding standpoint the way VR has done for Virtual Reality though I have seen fan forums use MV to refer to the metaverse. Only time will tell.

The only MV name I have is MVsq and the only Meta name I have is MetaLives. Both in .com. Handregging in this space is increasingly hard to do as some of the best names have been registered as way back as 2010.

I was listening yesterday to Yat domains on Twiter Voice, and they called their space the YatVerse. So yeap Meta+word or word+Verse will sure be a working combination. Btw you guys have any Yat domains?

I've seen a couple of celebs using Yat. I was surprised because they are quite impractical...

I was looking yesterday at .mv domains available to register and again today and nearly all have gone that were on my list 🤨 at £215 a pop I've gone for one, fingers crossed as it takes 2 weeks to register.

In this Microsoft doc, it refers to "metaverse (MV) "

like vr can stand for vacation rentals.. mv has probably even more uses and abbreviations

The other reason (besides the fact that it is short) why I personally like MV is because it flexibly can stand for Metaverse and Multiverse, eliminating the need to specify if you brand with it.

When talking about new and experimental regs I believe a veteran investor should clarify that's it's a big bet and any new domainer should know most likely it's a waste of money (highly speculative)

Remember that!

I actually heard about it here a few months back. https://www.namepros.com/threads/y-at-emoji-sub-domains-go-viral-with-425-000-sale-more.1234034/
With all my respect, if by saying that you have not heard about Yat names before, implies that none has well...
In any case what I was refering to is that the combo of word+verse or meta+word is something that a brand may use as the way to be part of this hype of the metaverse while keeping there brand name.
