I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Yes, I was very surprised to see Croatian supported at Epik. Such a small language and likely unnecessary, but props for trying anyway.

Congrats.

Actually, we are recruiting Country Managers all over the place. One of their first tasks is to localize the nascent reseller platform.

Example:

http://epik.com.ro/

One of the other immediate tasks is localizing the training course:

https://domaingraduate.com/

As you can see, we are making the pie bigger.

If we do a really good job, then Croatians will think we are Croatian and Nigerians will think we are Nigerian.

Digital Empowerment is the emerging theme.

Hello.

Please how long does it take to transfer in a domain to Epik. I did a transfer from NetworkSolutions since Jan 2 and yet to see it reflect. My first time actually.

My transfer to Epik from Dynadot placed days ago is still pending with Dynadot support telling fairy tales that the acceptance letter has been sent to me several times. Surprisingly, I get all emails from Dynadot in seconds except for - you guessed it - the transfer away ones.

I have another request then. Maybe i just can't find it, but i don't see all my tickets in one place. So i had a few question the last week and some of them were via chat and some via email, and some of them were not resolved at once, and now i can't even remember what they all were, but some of them were important like failed transfers or whatever, and now even though i have ticket numbers in emails i don't know where to look for and read those tickets, so i need to keep a track of all my issues locally. So would be nice to have one "My tickets" place.

Using Epik for a bit now, not a single complaint, everything gets resolved on the spot, live-chat is amazingly helpful, marketplace listings are very useful and easy to use, and very fairly priced for the fact that you get paid instantly (and most of the time less then 48 hours if you request a cash-out). Imo, Near Perfect and an absolute must registrar if you are about to take domaining serious.

We bought the back cover of the NamesCon program guide. What do folks think of this advertisement?

We need to finalize it today but still can make some edits if folks spot something important.

Thanks for co-creating!

I'd prefer some old godaddy style with Danica Patrick :) Not to say that the running guy is not good for an ad, and obviously there is no need to duplicate what mr. Parsons did long time ago, but still... The main element of this particular ad looks to be his uniform and watches, located right in the center. Various Epik brands are too small and less visible. So, one may think that it is an ad of Nike, Adidas or Puma.
The last but not the least, it is unfortunate that the term escrow is still in use, instead of marketplace, transaction assurance, or whatever.

Germans like to criticize, so thanks for the occasion:
  • Overall impression is good
  • Epik brands are placed well, very visible, but not too dominant which is good - I disagree here with Tony.
  • I would prefer "Websecurity" against "Landers". (Landers reads to me like Normandy 1944)
  • The stadium will be a welcome target for your opponents. It is disrepair. Is this Epik? Is this the future of domaining?
  • The model is an unknown Northafrican guy, isn´t it? If you go for Nigeria here then take a Nigerian athlete. If you advertize in the US, take a (black) US runner, they have enough top athletes.
  • The model is well worked-out. But for a sprinter his muscles are not enough, for the long-haul they are too much.
  • First view the watch, is it a co-sponsor? Whatever, runners do not wear luxury watches during their competition. They may wear smart watches or fitness gadgets but probably are not allowed by the rules (Yes always the rules.).
  • The runner´s dress looks like underwear.
  • Shoes are ok - co-sponsor? However they are Leisure jogging shoes but this is not so important.
  • Photo in general seems to be underexposed. Too many shadows on the runners - anyway dark - body.

From 10 suggestions posted by @Blitzpotz , 5 are discussing the dress, watches and what is it about and why. It is exactly what I meant: we see the ad of Adidas, not of a domaining company.

To me this poster is an extremely important branding because it will remain. Epik wants to transport or form its image. So we have to look at every element in this picture.

and the stadium is 100% empty. No people. Good or bad? Not sure really...

I would add the name "Epik" somewhere in the first sentence next to the word future. It makes the company's Brand Name more noticeable.

I don´t mind about that. Training situation.

If the picture would advertize eRise or Toki this f*ed up stadium would be a nice hint. (But without luxe watch, guys.)

It says hosting etc. and finance - all nouns. So Finance looks like a noun here. Did Epik knowingly elect to use it instead of simply Financing?
As per quick google search:
Finance and financing are used as synonyms in finance field. But there is big difference between both terms. Financing is just part of finance. It means to provide money for specific purpose. Deficit financing, education financing, financing a car, financing for working capital and financing for a new business. All's meaning is to providing loan or money. Finance is also used for same purpose but finance is deep science.

It's a nice ad, maybe you can replace the third line with:

We Energize you through Empowerment!

or

Get Energized Through Empowerment!

or

We Energize You by Empowering You!

Or

We Give You Momentum Through Empowerment!

Or just plain and simple

Energized Through Empowerment!

or

Momentum Through Empowerment!

One last one:

Innovation Through Empowerment!

Maybe I am not that good with the actual phrases, but you get the idea of what I am trying to convey here.

Awesome initiative there.

Thanks all for the amazing co-creation happening here. I dashed off to 3 quick afternoon meetings, and wow, 3 hours later I come back to the marketing department's finished product. Kinda cool!

I have to acknowledge @Lox for crushing it with the inspired re-do on our first attempt at an ad for the back cover of the NamesCon program. Impressive.

Really, the amount of diverse talent that exists in this community never ceases to amaze me. This is illustrative of the co-creation that makes the pie bigger.

Who else here likes Lox's concept? The hipster couple is a bit on the trendy side, but this is Austin we are talking about -- loaded with hipsters!

Engaging ... ?
Nice work! A good detail is the red color of the last sentence "Learn more ...".

The picture looks like already seen on Godaddy or Name.com and
obviously there is no need to duplicate what mr. Parsons did long time ago

I like the idea of visually transforming business success into sports or other awesome performance. Be it the runner above, remember Sir Edmund Hillary and his Sherpa standing on top of the Everest, imagine a licence of this unbelievable (moon-)shot:

apollo-11-thumbnail.jpg

Edit: I remember Apple had published a poster series to advertize Mac products in the early 1990s (?) with motifs of Picasso, Einstein, Callas etc. Classics!

I like the re-do that Lox has presented. To me, it's dead on its mark. The picture displays everything about the brand in a capturing way. Once you view the pic it resonate pertinent details about Epik and it's brand....(y)

The more I think about it, the more I think your attention to detail is just spot on. The ad was developed by one of our emerging market team members and it evoked the type of "bootstrap determination" that I detect when working with so many of our emerging market clients. It was very relevant.

However, for an event in Austin, TX, a highly developed high-tech city with mostly American conference delegates, that imagery is not as spot on as perhaps the one that speaks of empowering small enterprise through great brand names paired with cost-effective technology.

For anyone who missed it, @Blitzpotz has profound attention to detail!

<APPLAUSE>

A ambiguous praise if I get it right. Love for detail often let´s you miss the big thing and you get on other people´s nerves. But if nobody tells you that your sportsman bought his boxershorts for $2.99 at Woolworth you will have regrets later, perhaps.

Something like this?
(y)
When I started to scroll down your post I believed you´d already finished their new poster in Photoshop.

Guys, time to go to bed. Children and seniors should be already in there for hours (MET zone).
