A lot of domain investors also invest in crypto currency it seems as of late. I usually feel pretty confident that a domain I carefully acquire today will be a 10x+ my investment including holding time. If say, I were to buy bitcoin today, is it feasible that i would get 10x my money?

BTC has lower risks than other (non-liquid) coins...
Because more and more companies accept it as payment method...

And not only online...
For example, in Kyiv (Ukrainian capital) you may easily pay in BTC in clubs, hotels, restaraunts etc. It is very welcome... )

Finally accepted in website called cointrio.com

I added 100$ ... Bank said 695 CYN was taken which is equal 105.3 $
My bank fees is another 3%

Then I bought BTC with 100$ deposit
Then I asked to sell this 0.0000****
It says 74$ !!!! Although the price of BTC is going up !!!

What a mess?
I am very old to understand everything :(

But it seems there are fees everywhere

It won't be the fees with Bitcoin - it will be the spread (difference between the buying and selling price), when something is as volatile as Bitcoin, then the spread is very wide.

I'll buy your Bitcoin for the XE.com price if we can work out a way for me to pay you, or you want to take it in domain names. :)

If you convert your BTC to BCH the fees drop dramatically.
Transactions for BCH can vary from 0.02 to 0.12 cents.

All due respect, this thread should not be in GDD. You guys want to compare or allocate your investments to crypto, we have a category under "Digital Currencies." It can be tough enough for many new domainers to get a handle on the market, without having a crypto thread dominating the top of a domaining category.

Sorry, and thanks.

Why bother buying bitcoin? Its more likely an AltCoin will go from .10 cents to $1. Thats still the same amount of gains you were looking for. Bitcoin is great, if you have tens of thousands of dollars to throw at it. If not, invest in alts. Ill let ya in on some advice, Invest in IOTA, and in one year you will be rich :) I kid you not

I think you invest in Bitcoin, and speculate in alts.

I need to do a bit of alt speculation, but I'll spread the risk, and not buy one alt. On the other hand, I might try mining. :)

It really depends on how you buy your domains. If you know the right domains to buy and you make money on the buy I would say domains. But if you are just randomly buying stuff and aren't sure of these domains buy crypto

foolish buy at 10k IMO, you buy when things go down then hold

take a look at some ALTs. There might present an interesting long-term value play. Try to find one with a strong team and a really viable business idea based on BC tech. The REQ token is my choice.

I had a vision that it would reach 11,500 then drop back to 9500 and eventually go to 13,000. We shall see. I am not selling, been accumulating and holding since 2013, and I will accumulate more btc even at these levels.

Hit $12k in some countries ($11,441. in the US) already dropping now. Hit as low as $10,075 so far.

Funny... this would be the last coin I would recommend.

Etherium and ripple should be in everyone's portfolio. IMO

The first half of my vision has been fulfilled. It hit $12k in some countries ($11,441. in the US), then dropped to below $9500. — now for the second half, the run to $13,000.

You should've placed a disclaimer saying so, ppl here take others for their word to make some fast cash.

thats true, but people have to use their own judgement with anything.

also, when bitcoin first came out it was worth pennies and people thought it was a joke too - you never know i guess
