New (less censored) LiveStream VR peer 2 peer to be funded

Peer2PeerVR

I like your thinkin'... I'll raise your "peer2peer" bet with the following:

VR2VR ;) (I seem to recall VRVR sold for 40k... So what's the difference of one little "number" between friends?:xf.grin:)

...LOL...
I was not aware of the VRVR sale. But yes, that has possibilities.
When I checked the search engines, I found peer 2 peer and p2p are translated as the same.
Hence my reg of it since it was available. p2pvr was not.
It may be 2-3 years for this to be a thing but I know it's coming sometime.
I don't see my name as being a strong one...
...But I do know how to twiddle my thumbs if it matters :jawdrop:

WMR HMD's to outsell Oculus '2 to 1' this year ??
That assumes Oculus does not have one of it's own. Poor comparison in any case.
But that is how the hype game is played.
https://mspoweruser.com/analyst-thinks-windows-mixed-reality-headset-outsell-oculus-two-one/
Impressive though, and I agree as a category of more than 6 cheaper HMD's should be able to outpace 'everything' up to this point.
It is dependent on awareness to more than tech'ies and that means advertising.

So we have 11 more days for the fun to begin....
Anyone getting itchy hands ? They make a cream for that. LOL

While you might not realize it, this is major news for the near future.
AMAZON ACQUIRES FULL BODY SCANNING CO.
https://3dprint.com/190005/amazon-acquires-body-labs/
It's easy to see where this is going. But never expected it from a major retailer.

If most of the tech's remain a big boy only game by buy-out and not internal innovation,
it's going to be hard on the demand for names.

I couldn't agree more that this is major news!

Amazon is just riding the wave of the "bespoke" revolution... 10 years from now, because of scanning, etc., there won't be an item you can't buy that isn't customizable to your particular body. (They are already doing this with things like hearing aids, artificial limbs, etc.) Not only will clothes be tailor-made to fit you, but also things like 3d printed bicycles, athletic gear, furniture, etc. I think I previously touched on this phenomenon in regards to Apple's biometric face scanner, and how if the scanning tech can be opened up you will be able to scan virtually anything/anyone...

As to Amazon's acquisition of the company and its effect on domains, well, Fast Company did an article on them back in April of 2015 (here), so obviously they had plenty of time to acquire their domain - BodyLabs.com... (Point being, JMHO, but I think by the time the "big boys" acquire these smaller companies, most of the start-ups have already long-ago acquired their domain names... ;))

Well, I guess what I was really speaking to with regard to names demand was
that if there are no little striving co's in the start of a consumer tech, there is no names demand.
Being that all the big boys bought all the company's out they needed,
much less chance a little guy will even try. And that really has to do with capitalization and competition.

But the reason they acquire them is to speed-up their development instead of the time consuming innovate yourself. Why else did Facebook buy Oculus. Do you think a guy 'like' Palmer Luckey stands a chance to do create a new co like that now ? Of course we all benefit for a speed-up in delivery of the tech to the consumer (we like to think anyway).
It's hard to measure what you will never see I guess is how it play out for names.

But I do see 3D scanning as a pretty big deal over the coming decade for more than a dozen industries that will benefit and some new ones not yet created.

Magic leap to get 'MADFIRE' Comics on LAUNCH DAY
http://gearsofbiz.com/magic-leap-will-get-madefire-mixed-reality-comics-on-launch-day/110776
That's nice. So when is LAUNCH DAY ??? LOL -Nothing of substance !

As I have said for almost 2 years. If they manage to produce a product, 'the one they have impressioned you with', the cost of it will be in steep divide with those in the industry and then you have a problem of content compatibility and a selling platform and developers committed to the device.

And deep in my mind, I'm always hoping I am totally wrong about this because I feel the more the better for everyone, even if it ends up to be a overly expensive device.
But I am at the point in watching this that I figure there will be a device, there has to be to avoid fraud and prison, but just not what you might expect.

I have watched Abovitz carefully craft his wording with FRAUD in mind. It's easy to see if you watch for it.
It's what they don't say that matters. And you are left with 'impressions' that are not fraud if the investor is jumping to conclusions.(as many domain'rs do) If you watch the commodity futures market or the IPO market, you get use to seeing it.
In any case, the market will be awash with devices soon and this, even if the most remarkable device, is actually put to market, won't change it much if any. One of many.

I think what you are going to have in actual market delivery is a simple WMR 'Utra' device Similar to Samsung's Odyssey or perhaps like Lenovo's. With none of the proprietary chips that were talked about.
(to expensive)
And it's use may be also tied to the medical tech company's Abovitz has been buying with the VC money.
But most of the legal problems will probably evaporate.

Give me a few $Billion and I bet I can craft 3 devices to market in 18-24 months.

I love anything in AI, AR, VR, so on. The tech and the "ideas" are fascinating, And, there will be new and non-stop ones for a long time to come.

But it will be interesting to see the communication end. Things get real difficult when it's the voices of millions (from all over the world) talking instead of translating it into a language that is easily universal to a computer - typing.

We did an outbound calling campaign -with advanced language processing and voice response software (not really ai), but...... It turns out that a word in Spanish to someone from Mexico may be a swear to someone from Cuba (?dont remember exactly). If you ask someone a question about health - it has to be worded very differently to someone from the Southern US States vs Northern - or becomes offensive. Can you imagine the amount of these types of variables would have to be accounted for? Thats before you get into the audio quality of cell, vs wifi, vs someone's unique voice, etc..

Now, we live in a world where people move all over. How do they account for a guy from Texas, who lives in China, and is logging in from a plane over Russia?

It's going to be amazing to watch it unfold, very exciting.

I've got nearly all of my MR names up for renewal in the next month. Really annoying as in just another month we might see if the WMR headsets are having any effect at all on search interest for 'MR'.

Still hand registering names.. :( JapaneseAR in KING. Surprised that was still there as all the other language AR names have long gone. Language lessons in AR...no brainer. Can also be used for smut purposes as a last resort ;)

Is anyone planning to buy one of the WMR headsets btw? I've got my eye on the Samsung Odyssey but not sure my new Dell XPS notebook will handle it.
