Here is a good summary the next few weeks answers to longer questions.

https://uploadvr.com/google-oculus-facebook-standalones/

Looking at numbers again...
Noticed that there is almost one domain name reg'd for every internet user this year. (totals)
Four letter .com's sell the most numerous but, on average, sell for less than 6,7,8,9 & 10 letter names.
(would say the reason is that most do not make up a single word and to long for a common acronym)
I get more offers in april and dec but sell more in feb-april. I can explain the offer times from stats.
Mid-Sized players taking advantage of when folks need money the most (xmas and tax time) and making a low ball play. But I can't explain why most of my sales are feb-april.
Most of them are sold to end-users outside the US or I would have a hunch about it.
...just trends that have caught my eye recently...

TRIPP Raises $4 Million to Develop ‘Mood Altering’ VR Experiences

https://www.roadtovr.com/tripp-raises-4-million-develop-mood-altering-vr-experiences/

See a lot of these over the course of the week when researching the term ‘VR Experiences’

Another one yesterday:-

AMC investing $20 million in ‘VR Experiences’

https://www.psfk.com/2017/09/amc-bringing-virtual-reality-experiences-theaters.html

Think it's time funds was raised to buy the .com off me :giggle:(y) It gets interest but mainly from the $50 offer guys.

I did read that the other day on AMC / iMax and as much as I would like to see you sell them that name LOL,
I think they are going to call them Experience Centers or iMax Experience Centers.
Much as I never seen the need to use MR in domains (perhaps in limited ways), this is a case where I don't think they need to say VR because it could later include something else.
And I doubt they need a special domain for it. But it could be.
Theaters have had a cash crunch the past few years and they think this is the way forward.
I have to say, I agree, with all the extra mall space now-a-days, expansion could be on the cheap.
But a good home experience will soon follow in a few years and they will be in the same boat with a need to re-invent themselves continuously.
But i see the arcade style experience the one to match.
Life-sized game play. And I think that is where they are going very soon. Not just VR movie shorts.
Lazer Tag Re-Invented.

I'm sure someone other than those $50 low-ballers will need that name though...
AMC will have competition and or vendors who supply vr arcades with software and layout !
Just remember, the better names don't get the best bucks until the market is nearly fully saturated.
Hang in there...

Yeah not expecting AMC to buy it :xf.laugh: - It's a medium/long term hold really, so not expecting to find a buyer willing to splash out in the short-term I've had it (just over a year).

I know Oculus have a job title called ‘head of Experiences’ though and i know the term as a few admirers on here, i think Mario as made a lot of investments on the term ‘experiences’ in VR.

The VR P*rn guy spoke about it when he joined a few months ago:-

https://www.namepros.com/threads/virtual-reality-domains-vr.823495/page-1188#post-5872889

Can only be good thing from someone who owns such a premium VR domain(s) and is doing better than anyone else in terms of revenue from VR domains.

See how it goes anyway, you never know what’s going to happen – It’s arguably one of the top domains on paper, but there will be many terms that are premium on paper, yet won’t go on to sell for premium prices and at the other side there will be a few domains that don’t appear to be premium on paper but will go on to sell for premium prices, that’s how things work (y)

A few notable contenders in the portfolio. VirtualCenters/com VRPlace/com always liked location/site based names

Arcade4D is nice. Visually pleasing.

Yea, I did not play the arcade niche hard. I'm really thinking it is one of those that will be more of a branding play without our cherished keywords. Or a new one will develop. There are many substitute words that can be used if you think about it. To many for me to play for what I think will be used.
I have had VRPlaces for some time(2013) but that was intended for the tourism niche.
Your VRPlace works well for this arcade/entertainment niche. As well, TheVRPlace (taken)
While this is getting kicked-off as we speak about it, I think we are in for a 2-4 year wait for it to hit big.
I keep watching for opportunity as it takes shape.
Should be big with users but I'm not sure how big a play with names.
Depends on how many franchises control the industry over smaller independent/chains.
It would be good for all of us that dev teams make the content/layout
and sell/lease them to private chain arcades. Up to the owners to choose the right/popular content.
I think that is what StarVR is modeling for right now.
Competition is GOOD for everyone, but especially us.

In addition to all this new and exciting Mixed Reality news, Microsoft will have over 20,000 apps and games available in the Microsoft Store that support Mixed Reality headsets, starting on October 17, 2017. Here is a list of some of the games you’ll see in the Microsoft Store that will be available for mixed reality headsets as part of the Universal Windows Platform (UWP).

Let's hope for some MR domain sales the next months.

There are other ways to just pick-up the talent but they wanted the working organization and apparently time and simple logistics were a issue .
Clearly makes sense to me if you consider Minecraft and the WMR platform..
My guess is they are taking a stab and planning a much bigger Social Platform of their own and this will be the foundation or the eye candy of it. We shall see but I think they just 1-uped Facebook's but we really have not seen what FB is planning for VR/AR Social yet. But very soon.
I'm sure MS will have something to tease us with a year from now.

While I give MS a lot of credit, and always have, for the thinking behind the WMR platform,
In the beginning of this video, they seem to be trying to take credit for all the work done in VR & AR before their platform and in some cases very much more. And folks like AutoDesk, FordMC and others who did all that work deserve that credit. But this is a nice WMR preview. And Sumsung Odyssey HMD is previewed at the end. Seeing the MSRP of $499, we can understand why Oculus reduced the price of the Rift in advance of it. But they will have their own to reveal soon.

I don't know if this article from last month has already been posted here or in another forum - it's an estimate from a components manufacturer of the new Mixed Reality headsets that 80 million might be sold by 2020. For comparison, only around 2 million VR headsets in total were shipped in Q1 of this year (including GearVR) and I believe still not much more than 2 million PlaystationVR/Oculus Rift/HTC Vives combined have been sold up to now.
https://mspoweruser.com/microsofts-...t-80-million-headsets-sold-2020-likely-wrong/

And this is another optimistic article : https://www.vrandfun.com/holiday-season-might-define-outcome-vr-industry/

They could be wrong about how many HMD's since the manufactures models will change before 2020 and they might not be the supplier of choice and yet the total number of HMD's sold could be higher yet.

I actually think the total for 'this year' could easily hit 10-15M, with each of these new WMR compatible's selling something over 1M ea in the 4thQ. +Playstation +Rift +Vive +GearVR +Daydream...
It's not hard to fathom a much higher numbers for each year to 2020.
Especially if we see another $50-100 price drop over the coming years.
The mobile options should explode in sales next year.
Just look at all the new content that is being pumped to the market this month.
Each a new reason to have and use VR with plenty more to come.
LOL
