This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

Please use the Like and Thank links on a post to indicate that you like it or are thankful for it being shared.

  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

CPRTampa.com--$399
Hand Reg, Sold at Afternic

Funny story: I registered this domain name last year and had outbound mails sent out. Only one guy replied and asked how much. When I told him, he went silent, I sent series of emails which he never replied to.

I noticed it was nearing expiry so I decided to reach out to him again. Like before, he asked how much. I told him and he went blank again but this time said he is out of the country and will get back to me when he returns. Streak revealed he was still in same location. I wonder why he would lie.

By now, I had the domain name parked at Afternic as opposed to the first time when I contacted him. So, after almost a week, someone hit the BIN button at $399. All along I thought it was him until he replied me saying he will pay $150 for it, cutting from $175.

I simply satisfactorily told him that it sold for $399 and that I thought it was him.

Well after the transfer was complete, I checked the whois and it wasn't him that bought it but someone else, one of the guys I contacted that viewed the email ONCE!

This is the 3rd time someone almost purchase a domain name from me at lesser price but delayed or backed out and I get it sold for much higher. The biggest was California Egg Donors in the king where an end user almost bought it for $200 but changed mind and within a few days, another end user paid $999 for it.

Last month would have been a good month or so I thought BUT 3 sales fell through for me. All could have netted me over $1200 under working conditions.

However, there is hope for one of the end users as he promised to buy when he has money. Yeah, that one went from interested to " i do not have the money" Initially I thought may be price was the thing and so i discounted by $100 but he told me that he wasn't trying to banter me but telling me the truth,.

So, I can't say I lost out completely.

If you did outbound, why did you have the end user purchase on Afternic instead of your own page?

I dont know who bought my domain, I do outbound 2 months ago

Sold RMGI.org on Afternic BIN last month for $2499. Purchased it on here for $5 a year or so ago. The domain had bounced around namepros previously. Anyway, I wasn't sure about posting this as it sucks for the previous sellers and I just got lucky with timing.............but it does show that buying from fellow domainers on here can reap significant rewards.

Moral of the story.......buy more domains from fellow domainers on here rather than overpriced expired auctions :)

What was the duration of reducing price to $299 and sale i.e. how many days before you reduced the price and how many days later after new pricing it got sold

Just an approx time i am looking for

My best guess is July 2017 as it expires in August. I would have reviewed the price in July as I look at all the prices then. But the proviso is it could have been last year and I gave it another year at $299.

great sale!
what was yoru investment cost range/hold time?
was it flippa auction or makeoffer or bin?
Not much profit in this one.

Picked up in 2015 for $2750 while Cloud names were pretty hot and got little action on it for the last 2 years... Make An Offer. First offer came in at $1,650. Countered at $4,888, and met at $3,250.

Buyer was a school organization with limited budget, but it was time to move on from this one.

Domain Name : Pacax [.com]
Sale Venue : Afternic
Sale Type : BIN + Make Offer
BIN Price : $295.00
Sale Price : $295.00 ($236.00 after fees)
Purchase Price : $19.47 ($11.00 at GD Closeouts + $8.47 for renewal)
Purchase Date : June 20th 2017
Net Profit : $216.53

EDIT:
Do you think $295 is a good BIN price to set for 5L brandables or I would be better increasing it a bit. I have other similar good pronounceable 5L that I recently acquired and I am wondering if I should bump the price higher.

Those sell for $1500 + on BB. Can't say I've sold any anywhere other than BB at that price though. Decent sale, congrats

I think I will increase the price closer to mid $xxx. BTW, this domain was rejected by BB.
