Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

In my opinion, Keyword + VR is more brandable than VR + Keyword. So in this case buyers will be more likely to choose KinkyVR over VRKinky.

Remember, this is JMO, and I could be wrong. Cheers!

I think it depends on the word. I have lots of VR + keyword names that I think sound much better than keyword + VR

Few days ago I sold V/R/G/F dot net for $699, Sedo BIN
today got money :)

A big money pro just paid $30K for V/R/G/F dot com, so you got a good price for .net.

Growth in VR to fuel UK entertainment and media sector growth

According to PwC’s new Global Entertainment & Media (E&M) Outlook 2017-2021, UK's E&M sector to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10% over the next five years, driven by growth in VR and advertising.

The UK’s virtual reality industry is expected to grow at a faster rate than any other E&M industry from 2016-2021.

PwC forecasts a CAGR of 76% to a value of £801m in 2021 making it the fastest growing and largest virtual reality industry in EMEA.

"We forecast the number of virtual reality headsets in use in the UK will pass 16 million by 2021," said Stokes. "Around 12 million of these headsets will be portable mobile VR devices that use a smartphone at their core as these are more affordable for consumers and benefit hugely from the fast evolution and replacement rate of smartphones."

Dedicated home VR headsets are expected to account for three million consumer headsets, while portable dedicated headsets (a new category of self-contained devices), are forecast to account for a million units in 2021.

Either way it was a lot of money, but I think the price was more like around or a little under 20K from what I heard.

Good catch! You should do very well.

Website and Websites dot com both sold for almost a million each, so I think we'll both do pretty well.

Here are my dot kings

WebVRSites (This industry is going to be huge.)
WebVRWebSite(s) (it sounds redundant, but I've seen developers actually say "WebVR Website")
FreeVRSite
FreeVRWebSite(s)
(FreeWebSite.com sold for 500k)
VRSite.co.uk (sites.co.uk sold for 35k. site.co.uk for 11k)
VRSites.de (Website.de sold for 140k)

Additionally:

VRSiteBuilder (WebsiteBuilder sold for 1million on Flippa. FreeWebsiteBuilder.com sold for 45k)
WebVRBuilder
WebVRDevelopment

This is an area of VR where LucidDomain's VRBuilder should fit in nicely.

Sooo glad I didn't listen to the negativity about WebVR domaining in this thread last year lol. Follow your GUT!!!

Hope you're right, as I own several including WebVRcomputer in the king.

You know you're right, it was rosemary that went for $30K. Thanks for the correction.

Just saw the interview, and yes he literally said he paid "A little south of 20" (in thousands ofcourse).
Very good buy IMO, this name will skyrocket as the market grows and matures. He is holding on the long run as a 10 year plan, very smart indeed!

Tried HTC Vive...finally. OMFG. Blown away. Just blown away. I'm scared what we will have in five years.

I'm on the fence now about getting a VIVE. Might have to wait a bit and see what comes out.
I'm even blown away by a simple GearVR can't wait to see through a HTC Vive! ! Awesome man ;)

StreetViewVR (.) com

New Google Street View Ready Cameras Will Bring More Of The World To VR

Google Earth might make for one of the most exciting PC VR apps, but the company’s Street View app for Daydream is no slouch either, allowing you to step into 360 degree images of the world around you. The platform already offers plenty of content, but Google’s new Street View Ready cameras are set to introduce much more....

I'm not sure if that's a good one. Remember to think about what kind of company would need a domain and why, before regging it. What is a WebVR computer?

That is a Google product that already has a website (maps.google.com). That domain was available for a reason.
