DirectNIC has been around a long time, support is good, renewals are priced at $15

Good deal if you don't use FastHosts or want some NETs at a slightly lower price than BigRockIN ($4.45)

UPDATE 16:30 UTC 3 January: Support replied, there is a volume limit on this Promo. So as soon as they sell X number of domains, the Promo will end.

If you are a first time customer and your account gets locked, get on chat or start a ticket - https://directnic.com/help - they just verify new accounts manually, they will get you unlocked, no worries!

You can also set up an account WITHOUT making a purchase first
https://directnic.com/account/signup
then get support to verify you before purchase so you will have smooth sailing!

FYI. Just be aware that you will still see domains in your account and receive renewal emails for them long after you have already transferred those domains to another registrar. I lost some good domains because of the confusion this caused for me.

@korganian - Thanks for the heads up. I personally have not has this experience at DirectNIC but I have had domains remain in my accounts at other registrars after transfer. Usually all it takes is a support ticket to make sure they remove it manually. Easy to miss though if you do many transfers at once.

@domainwest - DirectNIC does not charge for transfer out, all you pay is the standard transfer cost to the gaining registrar $8-9 if there's no promos running. And remember you have a 60 day transfer lock after a new registration.

@dotbay - Yes I think it happens randomly everywhere, like a glitch in the matrix

many registrar from EIG group is treating domain as a part of hosting package., and they do not delete product completely when you transfer out the domain.....

so this thing is usual with them....
Dotster, domain.com, netfirms, 1and1, mydomain.com, fasthosts.com, namecheam.com and many other registrar has similar problem.

"so nothing new, you just disable auto renew and keep record of sold domains....."

Thanks to @luantt for sharing this info
@iAchilles I have some .NET domains here since October. Everything works smoothly.
But there's one thing that you need to know. For the first time signing up at Directnic your account might be locked but don't worry, just contact with support they will manual check and help you really fast.

My DirectNIC account is old so I cannot comment on setting up a new account, if anyone else signed up a new account for this promo and has good or bad to share, please do. Although I am sure we would have heard bad if it had happened : grin :

@Ritesh Chauhan - AhHa, I was wondering why names would get stuck at the old, makes sense now. Note To Self: Always verify transfers removed at losing registrar : smile :

Friendly Reminder: If you have a NEW account and you make purchases with no issues, be sure to double check your account later. We have a resolved issue of successful registration, no issues, then later discovered account had been locked and it caught @Aywhy93 by surprise.

Every support request or ticket I am aware of has been resolved successfully in 24 hours or less, even during weekends, so that's a plus in my book.

Yeah, it caught me by surprise but it was fixed in a good time-frame, now I'm really okay with DirectNIC. Thanks a lot @usernamex

I asked a friend to open account to test a push, since I put a domain up for auction here a couple days after registering it there.
I used a different domain I also recently registered to test the push. We both clicked links in the emails we were sent to confirm it, but it seems it didn't work. :|

Yes... You must contact chat support for push.

Okay, thank you.
Sorry if I missed that in this thread or it's already been asked in other threads!
I probably should have just asked support anyway :dumb:

*BUMP* This offer is STILL valid, as of this post the NET price is the best for unlimited/no coupon needed and the COM is best for low hassle registrar : wink :

Kinda surprised it is still going over a month after it started! Kudos to DirectNIC for a nice long running promo : smile :
