Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

any offers as of now?

Nah. Had some tire kickers but no comeback offers. As of yet what I need to do is list my domains on afternic. Which I notice is probably where everyone on here has been getting offers from ( I think?)

As they say if they can see my domains how can they make an offer?

@Yuri Kt you should refund imo

I guess I have to agree with eladnof. Vrsax isn't generic enough.

VRJazz.com might have been better or vrmusical.com

Oh wait wait

I'm from NYC. And one of the oldest rich expensive stores here on fifth Ave is

Sax Fifth Ave.

VRSax.com?

Will Sax Fifth Ave the store ever go VR e-commerce?

What do you think?

as long as you have a landing page and good domains you are suppose to get offers once in a while ..
evaluate your domains from an end user pov and compare to other similar domain opportunities for that end user.

Like I said I gotta get my marketing ass in gear. I have marketing ideas already. Can't really give my trade secrets here. I have a plan to get eyes on my domains soon for cheap especially China. But not going to front. I am a bit worried. But that worry will only fuel me.

The VR niche is very specific. You need to swim in the same ponds as the VR geeks swim in. I think I have that covered at least.

SAX has nice search volume. VRJazzband and VRJamsession are mine, VRJazz unfortunately not.

i think you are regging to much and not enough high quality domains. even if one or two will be sold , it wont be enough for your renewal costs.

if you are not getting offers or interest for any with the amount of the domains you are having , see that as a warning sign imo.

I think after eladnof's genuine concern for me. This question needs to be finally asked. ( Surprised that it hasn't yet been asked.

Here goes...

What is the current "floor" on VR domains ?

Reason I ask is well I'm not thee only one here with a huge collection of vr domains. So let's "worst case scenario" it.

Whatever the "floor" is on VR domains multiply that with whatever amount of vr (handregs) each one of you all have.

What are looking at? And millionaires right now or close to it or in the six figures range?

Especially when domains like.

(Long tails) VirtualRealityCommunity.com $245
Virtualfilestorage.com $130
Virtuallogix.com (2 L's next to each other. Usually ugly) yet sold $220.
RealidadeVirtual.com (Spanish) $787
Virtualr.com $3,388 ( I like this but domains sale. I think Chinese bought this because the number combo of 3388 is considered very lucky pattern.)
VRDuo.com $365
VRber.com $118
VRBazaar.com $335
DeportesVR.com ( Spanish) $104
PrsVR.com $115.
VRBucks.com $293
VRRain.com $117
VRFieldTrips.com $180
PurpleVR.com $140
VRButler.com $250
TBSVR.com (even potential TM issue domains selling ) $125
ZzzVR.com $139
VREar.com $109
VRPlanes.com $156

This one is special.
VRMove.com $132
MoveVR.com $306

Shows that Keyword + VR.com gets higher bids than VR+ keyword.com

Are VR domains (or has they already?) Become or surpassed Chinese Premiums as the next big boom or bandwagon?

I think I answered my own question ! Lol
The floor seems to be $100+ except NP auctions of course.

These are the facts and numbers. Even the crappiest of VR domains are being sold for at least $100 or more.

With handregs ranging from 99cents to $15 per reg there's still profit to be made.

Ok so vrduo.com sold for $365 and duo gets 368,000 searches per month.

Sax gets 550,000 searches per month.

I think that should be your salespitch for VRSax.com

Sidenote go to thefreedictionary.com and look up Sax and see what it stands for. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks, nothing new for me. Even more results if you just google SAX. However I'd like to know about direct traffic for the typo - sex. saks etc.

mvrr.com 310 USD 2016-06-14 NameJet (Namebio.com)
If MVR gets established as Mobile Virtual Reality, that could turn out a to be a really nice buy.

I see what you did there! Lol

If you were thinking of Sax to be a typo play for the word sex. That's a big stretch.

Better would be

Swx
Srx

Since w and r are on either side of the letter e.

Oh there's also an accounting firm by me called Sax Macy Fromm. They are pretty big. Oh and there are the. Saxons ( medieval France) Hope this helps.

Ok forgot to ask this. You all know GearVR and WearVR.com right.

I've seen alot of people registering things like

Keyword+WearVR.com
And
Keyword+GearVR.com

Isn't this cybersquatting and a TM issue? Or no?

These are the facts and numbers. Even the crappiest of VR domains are being sold for at least $100 or more.

With handregs ranging from 99cents to $15 per reg there's still profit to be made.

Indeed, the question is, is there still "profit to be made" with this kind of domain investing?

A quick "math" check and comment regarding regging low-quality VR names and hoping to recoup your money... (Pardon my getting into the weeds here, and please check my math...)

Okay, let's say you have a low-quality 600 VR domain portfolio.

Your "theory" is that the "floor" for VR domain names is $100 per name. (I don't happen to think this is true - IMO most of these names are worth $0 - but I'll use your theory in this instance - In fact, I'm even going to give you a value of $200 per name sold to be generous...) Now, the average noob domain investor sells about 1-3% of his portfolio annually... (Again, in this instance, I'm going to assume you are a super-star, and sell 5% of your domains annually...)

So here we go...

1) 5% of 600 domain portfolio = 30 -- You can expect to sell 30 names annually...
2) 30 x $200 avg. sale price = $6000 income from sales selling at $200 average
3) 600x 9$ annual renewal fee = $5400...

$6000-$5400 = $600... Is this a meaningful ROI?

Do you see where I'm going here?... Even with the most optimistic scenario, when dealing with low-value names, you barely break even on reg fees... (and note, if you haven't had any sales to date, odds are you're not going to have an "optimistic" outcome...) Obviously, if you have to hold your names for even longer, the reg fees really begin to eat you alive and you go negative very quickly... (And, btw, you'll note I didn't even include original reg-fee costs in this scenario...or other opportunity costs, etc...)

My point being, and I've pounded this drum often, always DO THE MATH! (or, in other words, "quality over quantity..." ) As always, all of the above is JMHO... (And apologies to all for the rudimentary math lesson...;))

When you register any domain you basically don't break any rule. The problems begin if you make money, attract traffic or misuse the trademarked name.

Agree, with names this good, buyers will find you... (Too early in hype cycle for auction anyway... Unless you need some quick cash for renewals - In that case, count me in on the bidding too! :))
