Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

imo this is the type of domain you should hold on to for longer time and more money .. the way things are gong for vr+smartphones now.

are you sure u can't pick anything else to replace it off your list?

good luck.

Were the offers you received via Sedo platform itself? If yes, will Sedo notify previous bidders of the direct auction listing? Auctions, especially short 7 day ones can be a big hit or a bigger miss. I would personally avoid that route. But if one of the low $,$$$ offers were still binding, then I would push it into auction. Good luck!

true
but I think he said he does not want to start from 1$.. so start XXX or have XXX reserve

which I think is fine. except it could still be a miss. cause I think sedo charges fees. not cheap for this... so if no bid or sale.. u lose auction fee.. I have no clue how much cause I nver use auction there. maybe $50? whereas push to auction after offer received is I think free on sedo..

Look, just sell the domain to me for $500 and move on! What say you? :lookaround:

Haha i'll take it at $501 :)

@NamesBond you might do well at NP auction especially with people like Lucid,FX and I also noticed TechName has been in VR bidding wars with me and beats me (ARRRRHHH) lol...

Give us a decent floor rate and it will do really well as its a great name. IMO

You're missing what I'm saying. He wouldn't be starting from $1 if he had received a low 4 figure, $,$$$ bid via the Sedo platform, then he could just push it to auction and the x,xxx bid price would act as reserve a reserve and a guaranteed sales price.

I thnk you missed what I said.

you were saying that it'd be a big miss to just post it to auction without an initial push offer. to which I said it would not be, because his intention was not to start with 1$ but list with reserve or from XXX amount.

and yes of course the ideal is to push after offer, but again, that was not his point because he currently has no offers and does not want to wait, and was asking about listing it an auciton without offer/push.

in short, its not about me missing what you said.. its more abotu you missign what he said.

unless we both missed what he meant lol. in which case.. maybe mr @NamesBond can clarify haha.

cheers

First off, thank you all for taking time to respond! (Even you Lucid, your kind, albeit-low-ball, offer at the very least gave me a nice Monday afternoon LMFAO moment...)

As to some clarification, I'm considering a "direct" SEDO auction (costs about $60), not a push-to-auction, as I don't have any live bids for the name pending. (sorry for any confusion.) This said, I've pushed to auction dozens of times in the past, but have never gone the "direct" auction route with SEDO since they began offering the service. It is my understanding that I can set a reserve in the standard fashion, but off-hand I'm not sure about setting a "starting" bid level or minimum bid increment. (Perhaps someone who has used SEDO's direct-auction option can clarify?) Otherwise, my understanding is they get a straight 15% cut of the sale.

Hope this clears things up a bit. (FYI, previous bids were 2 by email and 1 via Sedo...) Also, still interested in your thoughts on fair reserve. Thanks again to all for their well-considered feedback - Much appreciated!

thanks for clarifying Bond.
thats whatI thought you said, but I admit it was not clear after Boston brought up the other version.

I think this domain is worth more, but if you insist on selling it now and can do high XXX or low XXXX then I'd go for somehing like 2k reserve. I thnk this gives you a very good chance of selling. and thats waht you seem to want.

good luck and keep posted.

No reserve should attract more bidders. The more bidders you have, the more chance two or more will get in a bidding war.

for sure but like boston said without reserve this could become a major misfire and due to this or that (lack proper advertizing, or what not) it could go for the $500 people jokingly offered here :)

Need some advice from VR specialists,,,

I'm thinking about pushing my VRsmartphone into a direct Sedo auction, as I've had some past interest in the high $$$ / low-$$$$ range, and now need cash for another opportunity... Do you think this is a name the aftermarket would have much interest in at this point in time (given recent Samsung announcements, etc.) and what do you think might be a fair reserve:?: (All input and opinions welcome...If you'd rather offer advice off-line, feel free to PM me...)

Look, just sell the domain to me for $500 and move on! What say you? :lookaround:

P.S. Reposting this as original post was deleted. For anyone for can't tell (mods included): I'm kidding.

Experience the World's largest dinosaur in Virtual Reality
In the first mixed reality 360° film made by the BBC, Sir David Attenborough invites you to walk with the largest dinosaur ever to have roamed the planet

Nice! I can't wait to try it! Pretty much every Dinosaur experience I've seen previews for look amazing. I wish that Crytek's Robinson: The Journey wasn't exclusive to the PlayStation. I was really hoping to play that on the Vive.

I've been holding onto VirtualDinosaurs (com) for a while!

If the "IVR" prefix becomes widely adopted, I think you'll do well with this name - I'm holding VRrobot, and have had a couple inquiries already. Also, if I recall correctly, Vrobot sold for @11k by a Namepros member, so that's some additional encouraging news...;)
Ya I'm the same with my VRRobo.com hanging on to it for another while.

Sedo "make offer" push to auction, no more bids
maybe for gambling, casino web VR developments

I'm selling multiple domains lately, I need a lot of money for my new investments

I know how u feel. thanks for info. imo that was a fantastic sale for you. can't say bad for buyer cause everyone needs what they need and then pay for it.. and then are probably/hopefully happy with it. but the fact you had no more bids and that we all have clearly no clue how this could be used, based on kw alone, to me means its good deal for seller. enjoy it!

cheers

p.s. al this put aside, its mind boggling to me how I get many offers on vr on godaddy/flippa, and believe it or not, exactly zero since ever forever on sedo!!! amazing stuff.
