information Top Topics: My First Outbound Sale; An Inbound Enquiry from a Fortune 500 Company...

Spaceship Spaceship
In this week's Top Topics, we have a couple of success stories from both outbound and marketplace sales. It's always nice to see an investor complete a marketplace sale, but an outbound sale can be even more difficult to achieve. We also have an investor looking for advice after receiving an inbound enquiry from a Fortune 500 company.

Here's this week's Top Topics.

Should I Tell the Owner About Their Expiring Domain?

Recently, an investor enquired about the possibility of purchasing a valuable .CA domain name. The owner of the name responded by telling the investor the name isn't for sale.

Since enquiring, the investor has noticed that the domain has now expired, and is in redemption period. Should he tell the owners that it has expired, or wait for it to expire and attempt to acquire the domain then?

What would you do in this situation?

My First Outbound Sale

An investor has shared his story of his first ever outbound sale, which by all accounts was a very easy sale!

The investor does a very good job of telling this story in the discussion, but suffice to say, the investor managed to sell the name just hours after contacting the owner of a similar domain.

Unfortunately, outbound sales are often far more difficult to close, but completing that first sale is always a great feeling!

Will British .EU Owners Lose Their Domains?

This week, the U.K. voted to leave the European Union by a vote of 51.9% against 48.1%. Aside from affecting the economy, international relations and trade deals, the decision may impact British .EU domain owners.

What does the future hold for .EU domain owners in Britain and around Europe? Have your say in the discussion.

My First Sale on BrandBucket!

Brandable domain names are a topic that has been covered at length in discussions and on the Blog. It's a category of domain names that can be very profitable, although being successful can often hinge on the type of domains you've bought, and the amount.

After submitting domains to BrandBucket for the past year, this investor felt discouraged as none had been accepted.

Fast forward a year, and the investor has tried BrandBucket again, with a newly registered domain name, which has now been sold for a four figure sum just 55 days after registration.

For all the details of this story, including the domain name and the exact sales price, visit the discussion.

Advice on an Inbound Enquiry

Having received an inbound enquiry on a domain name from a Fortune 500 company, this investor asked for an initial offer.

After receiving a low three figure offer, the investor is looking for opinions on whether to accept this offer or try and counter with a much higher figure.

Other investors are giving their opinions in this discussion. What would you do in this situation; accept the offer, or negotiate for a higher price?
