Spaceship Spaceship
In this week’s Top Topics, domain investors discuss the latest blockbuster sale from Mike Mann, and a domainer shares some advice on selling your domains for clearance prices at Afternic. Elsewhere, we see which keywords may have lost value thanks to the coronavirus, and an investor asks for advice on a $1,000 offer.

Mike Mann Sells LightRock.com for $94,888

Founder of DomainMarket, Mike Mann, announced his latest sale this week. He revealed on social media that he sold LightRock.com for $94,888. This is a phenomenal sale, but bear in mind that Mike owns a portfolio of several hundred thousand domains, so he needs to achieve significant sales figures in order to pay for renewal costs, for example.

In this discussion, domain investors are reacting to the sale as well as discussing the sales price and the potential buyers.

Which Keywords Have Lost Value?

Domain trends, by their very nature, see keywords become popular while other once-popular keywords seem to fade away into the ether. Unless you follow closely, it can sometimes be difficult to recognize trending keywords.

This discussion asks a more specific question about keywords losing value. Which domain keywords have lost value due to the coronavirus? Some suggestions so far include keywords in the flights, tourism, and cruise sectors. Do you know of any domain keywords that have lost value thanks to the coronavirus?

Poll: Would You Sell This .CO for $1,000?

Sometimes, it’s easy to accept or decline an offer, but sometimes it’s difficult to decide whether or not to cash in on a domain name. Here, an investor has asked the wider community for their opinion on whether to sell a name or not.

The domain in question is a two-word .CO name that has received an inbound offer of $1,000, up from an initial offer of $500. Would you be inclined to accept an offer for a two-word .CO name? So far, the majority of the community seems to think the investor should sell.

Superb summary @James Iles !
I had missed the discussion started by @WhoaDomain.com on which keywords had lost value, an important topic.
The clearance price discussion started by @twiki presents a topic that hasn’t been talked about much.
Thanks again.
