sales Mike Mann Sells Estera.com for an Impressive $41,000

Spaceship Spaceship
Mike Mann has just announced his latest domain name sale. The founder of DomainMarket.com has confirmed the sale via Twitter, telling his followers that the domain name Estera.com had just been sold for $41,000 after Mike purchased the name on May 11th 2012 for just $176.

The domain name's WHOIS hasn't updated to reflect its new owners yet, but from a quick Google search, it seems that Estera is a first name in Eastern Europe. According to Google Translate, Estera also means "foreign" in Italian and "mat" in Spanish.

Judging by this information, it's difficult to see who the end-user might be. There were two possible candidates from my research. Firstly, there is Fundacja Estera, a Polish organisation that assists Syrian refugees. Secondly, there is a Chicago company called Estera Events.

Interestingly, the plural - Esteras.com - sold at Sedo in November 2015 for $6,368. That domain name is currently being used by a German company called EMSA.

Whoever the end-user turns out to be, it's a great sale. A profit of $40,824 (not including registration fees) within four years is an excellent 23,195% return on investment, which is something that many of us hope to achieve.

Congratulations to Mike on his latest sale.

Hmmm, did this sale actually complete? Estera.com is still shown for sale at DomainMarket, and the Whois has not changed either… I wouldn't have publicized this sale until it went through and was a done deal. Not sure if any purchaser would want to know how much profit the seller was making on it.

@canbrit yes. It has gone through - the WHOIS has now changed to a privacy protected listing. I believe Mike publishes details after the sale has been confirmed but before the domain has been pushed.

Thanks James. The Whois still shows the DomainMarket DNS and the Estera.com page still resolves to the For Sale page, so I figured it hadn't gone through. However, I should have known that MM wouldn't publicize anything until it's a done deal...
