Tip of the day: Don't used estibot to get an idea of the retail price. Its not accurate. Use Google Adwords and see if there is any search and good cpc.

Link: http://vij.com/google-adwords-keyword-planner-domainsherpa-tutorial

ps: Its not beacause a name is aged that means it have value. onlinestores.com was good when people where typing domains instead of using google. It still have a lot of value but less than before.

onlinestores.co may be a good purchase. I suggest building it, rank it and get tones of affiliates. Then we can speek about a premium price.

My opinion.

yeah, it took me at least 10 domains to register based on estibot to cure myself from such a lousy tool.

and don't get me wrong here, those 10 domains had the estimated value between 1000-3000 USD

and what happend after? guess what, nobody had made me an offer even to this day

i still look at them from time to time and ask myself: why? why you had to be so stupid? don't you see how shitty they look, no wonder nobody wants them

it may seem crazy but i wait the day to see them expire and disappear from my account asap

DotBay-Xpimp-Thanks for the comments---Before i buy a name-i check traffic-Valuate.com (for price,search and TRAFFIC!!--i chop their price ESTIMATE %70)is ESTIBOT BUT FREE.

Try the VALUATE as you can list the name for sale right there-takes a minute.I've sold 6 that way over a few years

.Again it is Estibot--so if -as you say-had some appraise for $3k--put it for sale for--299-399-499--They will include their estimate on the listing if you want it-give you a link for your sale site etc

XPIMP rather then let them expire put them on eBay cheap. You might be suprised.

I had a Team(mlb)Jersey.com-they appraised it for $4,200 listed it for $399-and out it went. Bought it with one of those $1.99 codes.

I also/then use DomainIndex.com--really good as it gives trademark, keywords traffic and -much more -even listing similar names that have recently sold.So i crosscheck.

I have already had 4 adsense clicks with decent pennies in just over a day so it gets traffic. .I slapped a Gift type site(have the same content on 2 other sites) to the name and the cheapest of the clicks was .59 cents-so gifts are good.beats parking it.%%-

For the record i have close to 60 live sites-Even those names are for sale.

As a follow up WHEN/IF U offer list a name-its free to list-dont have to wait like Bido etc--It also gets advertized on a lot of sites.

Do one for fun.Then-even minutes later-go to DomainIndex.com
and put in the name back in for appraisal and u will see a red
block that will say this name is for sale.Click on it and you will see your domain--this is what you will see--JUST did this one

Yes, that is a good point. Have them listed on Sedo and now wait for GoDaddy to unite its auctions with Afternic on 31 March 2014 so two big platforms will be accesible :)

I wouldn't have paid $50 for the .com lol So this was overpriced IMO Though of course, it's still good news: it's nice to see ppl would actually overpay on a .co

Yeah, your domain came to my mind immediately after sawing at what price OnlineShoppingDirect.co has been sold

Hope you ll have at least the same luck with it

By the way, sex.co is again at sale, i guess their idea with that reservation price didn't had so much success

Thanks-its live and getting Adsense clicks so we will see.

I listed it way lower then that one.

If you were in the States-here is a name that is available--

LaXpimp.com :gn:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------:hehe:
Just a humorous follow up. U could be the LA-xPIMP OR you could be the Pimp at Lax--Lax is the AIRPORT Symbol . U could hold business at the airport.,just need a banner and a phone book.

Name works.

freelancer.com.co - $3,500 - 2013-12-10 - Sedo

I am more surprised that a misspelled word (cupon.co) went for 11,000. My last single word CO "griddle.co" should sell for something. I would take $600. Some of these CO domains that sell are baffling to say the least. I also have "blackdiamonds.co" Seems like that should sell as well. I have only had slight interest ($200 offer on "griddle" and $75 offer on "blackdiamonds") over a year ago. I have had no interest in PST.co or BCP.co.

Indeed cupon.co was highly overpriced, personally i didn't even register it if it was free right now because it's not clean and on very rare occasions i take domains with the maximum misspell "Z" at the end but that word must be very short and highly popular.

Many times i'm a bit confused when i see sales like this and i wonder why people would pay for such a...

At least freelancer.com.co, mentioned by aalrashed, is clean, freelancer.com is a highly popular site in Alexa Top 500 so let's say i understand a bit that price but still i don't agree with it.

Is my domain Lancer.co better than freelancer.co.com?

free.lancer.co vs freelancer.co.com :)

It's tough to say which one is better. From my opinion lancer.co is clearly better then freelancer.com.co ( but freelancer.co would be better then lancer.co because freelancer.com is in Alexa Top 500 so freelancer.co receives a chunk of that traffic and also i think is a generic word so no trademark issue)

The best thing that you can do is to register a generic .co when the .com equivalent is very popular but no one can attack you with trademark issues because is generic. In this way you can sit back, relax, make money from parking and sell that .co only when a serious offer comes along. And trust me, no other extension, besides .co, doesn't receive so much traffic when .com is highly popular.

As you can see .com.co has been losing some ground in spite of Cointernet promoting .com.co for local use vs .co for global use.

Besides .co, .com.co and the rest look so ugly as extensions :)) I mean, ok, even if the average Joe still doesn't know about .co, he will do some typo and will find out eventually that .co exists( by seen a parked page or ideally a website) but com.co and the rest cannot be typed by mistake, a huge budget would need to be injected to promote the rest of the xxx.co extensions, me personally i wouldn't dare to touch them

I'm surprised people think Cupon is a typo. It's the Spanish word for "coupon." More importantly, the .com is developed, which is probably why the .co sold for that much.

Estibot and Valuate appraisals, or any automated appraisal, cannot be counted to be accurate. Don't base any of your buying or pricing of domains on them.

The only reliable prices are those of comparable domains (same keywords, extensionn length, etc.) that have sold in the last few years. You can find sales prices at Namebio and DNSaleprice.

Yes, you re right. Myself also didn't realized at the first glance it was a spanish word, even on my language (romanian) "cupon" actually means also "coupon"

It is probably worse than those stats would appear. I think that there are about 26K .com.co registrations that are Conficker worm black hole registrations. These are not active registrations and many registries added them to their zones to fight the Conficker problem.

The biggest player in .co registrations is Godaddy. (domaincontrol.com nameservers) and cashparking.com is also Godaddy. Many .co domains are PPC parked on Godaddy and have been so since they were registered. Though I haven't run a ccTLD web usage survey on .co recently, the biggest problem for COInternet was, and still is, kickstarting development and usage in the ccTLD. The launch of the new gTLDs over the next few years may be the perfect storm for .co ccTLD and many of those permanently parked .co registrations may start dropping as the bubble domainers (those who believe the hype about each new TLD being the 'dotcom killer') move on to the next big thing.

Regards...jmcc
