So far I've been pretty happy with them but I only use them for registration. Their user interface took some getting used to though. What problems are you having?

ive had various problems, mainly problem why its not beeing dealt with is their internal communication ...

they are part of directi company and are all in the same office in india dealing with problems for website.in + all the other subcompanies ...

there user interface is very confusing:
i remember registerering for the first time and thinking how come i can opt for .mobi starting from 1 year. I thought it was two .... again a mistake in their user interface. Mind you they have a footnote the size of smallprint saying when buying .mobi, a minimum of two years must be taken...

They regged 5 of my names, i thought i paid for them, it appears they have paid for it and it didnt go out of my account ...

now i tell them about this problem, they still havent fixed it on top of that they want me to pay for it after pointing it out to them ....

as i had these debit notes on my account this meant that i was not able to suddenly make any more orders on my existing account as there was 5 names added (reg fees) ...

I didnt have a choice then to create a new user account, bought some names, then payment was high security warning ....

One day you speak to Bob and next day Bob is Tom, they change names quite frequently.

When you make a support ticket it can take easily 12-24 hours to reply if you are lucky. The problem here is that not one, but many people answer your ticket = no one knows whats happening at website.in. Allways total confusion

Their support live chat is often online but no one answers

support phone numbers: us and india >> brilliant if you live in europe, isnt it?

+ there are hundred and one more reasons why i actually shouldnt be dealing with them in the first place .....

I agree the user interface is confusing. The problem I have intermittently is the tool bar in the my account view is missing. I've sent them notice and screen shots about it and nothing has changed. My workaround is to log out and back in and it returns. A bit of a nuisance but I've dealt with worse.

If when my registrations are up in 2 years I have another registrar with similar pricing and better service then I will switch. But the pricing has been great so I deal with the issues.

website.in

I love website.in because, yes, they are so cheap.,. I can get more names from them.

Also, at least they have phone support. Sorry only certain countries, but for a cheap registrar yes I'd live with that too. Their control panel plays tricks on you though. Sometimes you have to log off and log back on to see feature options.

Their phone support has been helpful though. When you register for a name, double check in the whois that it has been registered or all have been registered from your order to MTLD. Sometimes, there is a delay, but once I see a name not registered after I pay for it I usually give them a call right away. I am happy with them and do feel secure for the next two years dot mobi reg at least..

$8.99 a year!

Kind Regards,

Yelo

Well, I unfortunatly have two names with them because after I won them on the drop the names got registered there.

They charge you if you want to forward your url. they charge you if you want to change nameservers. . They charge you for every little thing most registrars let you do for free.

So i decided two weeks ago to transfer my names out. Well its been two weeks and I still am waiting. Called customer service a few times and no help.

So over all two thimbs down. :(

I have always gotten excellent customer support, they are just a phonecall away if there are any problems, plus .mobi is $8.99.

Any issues were resolved within a couple of minutes by them over the phone.

The interface is a bit tricky to start with but just takes a bit of getting used to.

I will continue to use website.in for all of my .mobi registrations as I am very happy with them.

agreed, they don't charge for dns changes ... but occasionally their site is not accessible and transferring a domain out takes about 2 weeks.

So far the only real issue with them is paying 5 dollars so you can edit your dns servers ... yeesh they dont tell you that when you reg your names .. they say you can change it after ... ya .. after you pay more money. at least you get to edit 50 names for 5 dollars

All in all, it's boils down to the age old saying, 'you get what you pay for' if you except your getting a cheap deal, except cheap customer service.

true,

but customer service should allways be to a certain minimum standard.
thats what i believe at least.
i see what you mean, but since i didnt have the money i couldnt, otherwise i wouldnt have worried about 'money'

My 2 cents..

I've never had to submit as many support requests as I do with Website.in (it's honestly been 25+ since September). I've had problems with payment, registration, pre-registration, and the biggest of all: transfers. Transferring out of that place is a nightmare. I guarantee 99% of all Website.in customers have submitted a support request. It's impossible not to.

If you want to avoid a headache stick with Moniker/GoDaddy and avoid Website.in at all costs. You do "get what you pay for"

That's a lot of support requests. I have yet to deal with a registrar transfer out of website.in, but once I got over the user interface quirks I've been OK. I guess I've gotten used to holding my nose in order to save some money on reg fees. :)

I agree! ive had probably around 10+ support tickets that are very long and took ages to sort out, still sorting out two of those .....

i think its a shame but to late now, didnt know at the time when i bought my names this was going to happen ......

Thanks for the update. I'm glad all is well, at least for now. Hopefully they use your issues to improve their services in general.

New Interface in Checkout

I have loved website.in because of prices, $8.99 a year - $17.98 to years for a DotMobi..

This saves me alot..

Now, they are offering FREE privacy WHOIS on each registration!

They have responded..

Kind Regards,

Yelo
