ok this topic came up in the chat room and i figured i'd post it to see how many replies we could get from it. if it's already been discussed, please post a thread to it this way we don't have dups.

what was your first domain and what year did you register it in? if there's a story behind it, please share as well.

I registered it when I did not know a much about websites, Oct 04. Registered it because my name Sreejith + Ultimate = Sr-Ultimate :P lol

At first I ran a template from template monster for about 2 months with few ringtones for download on it. (I bought my T610 at that time ) .
Then I saw my friend running news website. Yup! I asked his permission, ofcourse, and then installed phpnuke and used to post news from other sites , thats when I came to know you have to post "source" when you post a news :P .

I think, in Jan or Feb 05 I installed wordpress and and started blogging about myself, my personal blog. Ultimately I changed it to my Web 2.0 blog where I blog about Web 2.0, Ajax, CSS, Wordpress themes etc.

Right now it has a decent Google PR of 6, around 35k Uniques (apart from subdomains stats). Its my baby :D
Right now I have 12 active websites but its the one I can't live without

My first domain which I still have was cradle-of-fear.com and was a fan site for a low budget horror movie (by that name). I bought the domain on 20th October 2001

I offered to provide the official download for the trailers of the film and still do offer them. I really need to get the site back up and running, will create it myself this time instead of using php-nuke.

That was to rich for me at that time and unfortunetly i didnt have the resources to go crazy with regging like this last year.

Multimedia1.com 1996 I still have it. It was the name of my video game retail store in NYC. It used to be DMOZ listed but when I dropped it as a game site it was delisted. I had a lot more pre-2000 but most I have sold off. I plan to keep Multimedia1.com though.

- one word, catchy & brandable
- "empster": 5 search queries daily (maybe not enough)

my first domain was a .info domain name.
It was "chemistryonline.info"

I didn't buy it.
I got it from a forum that gave free info domains for every 30 posts. (wow !)
Too bad that it (that forum) wasn't in business for long.

Registered at namecheap during the month of february (11th feb 2007),
I haven't done much / developed anything on this domain.

Had a small time website related to high school chemistry on it,
and due to some good promotions and SEO even got a PR1 (Page Rank 1).

And now its closed as i dont have enough time to manage/continue a site of my own.
