I didn’t find such thread, maybe it will be interesting to know what were the first names we registered

My first one was year ago – 5seven.com – don’t know why I registered it, maybe because all of that kind combinations were taken at that time. Another domains from that first “pack” were really tragic. Some of them I tried at High Price Domains thread LOL

I’ve sold 5seven in September for $150 via Sedo (end user found me). That was the beginning of domaining for me :)

My first domain was justicefordads.com. I still use it for a website I threw together to give general advice for men with kids going through divorce, (although it is equally applicable to women).

I didn't know anything about keywords etc when I purchased the domain so it isn't great for type-ins, still gets a few visits/week though.

In 2001, My Full Name dot com. I still have it. I think I paid $35.00 or $50.00/yr for it, that is, until 2007.

Over the years, squatters/tasters have regged the .net version and have tried selling it to me for $$$. Finally, it was dropped last year, and I regged it as well.

As frivolous domains, DucksInc[dot]com and Ducks-inc[dot]com (2002). I keep them mostly for sentimental reasons--almost no traffic.

MY first reg was floors4sale.co.uk - Regged to set up an online business but decided to not venture down that way.

I let it drop and I believe someone else owns it now.

mine is Livefootball.in . Started creating the site with full enthusiasm. But somewhere down the line it halted. Now that you reminded me of that, I have to restart it before the 2010 world cup.

My first domain was time-out.com. I tried developing it, but could never seem to monetize it properly. I ended up selling it in 2004 for low x,xxx, which was quite a bit for a hyphen name back then. I wish I still had it. :(

My first was regged back when I was maybe 17. Dorky as it sounds, I used to go by the nickname Nyte Chyld. So I regged nytechyldsasylum.com for a personal site. The site is dead and the domain was dropped. I go by Archangel everywhere I go online (pretty much) but I doubt I'll ever have the cash to buy archangel.com lol ArchangelsAsylum.com might be available but I have no interest in it.

My very first was my company name and I still have/use it.

Even before I started "domaining," I bought names just because I liked them or planned on doing something with them. I still have all but one - it was a gift for a friend and she apparently didn't listen to my instructions. She thought renewing the hosting fees was all she had to do, and the name dropped. For reasons which still mystify me - it was a joke name for an inside joke - it was snapped up and hasn't been available since, now parked.

A .ie back in 1992 or so, I think. I left it drop in 2003. One of my main ones (a *watch.com domain) was regged in 1995 and I still have it.

Regards...jmcc

My first was anarchyology.com in 2001. Always wanted to develop it as personal site for my 'art'. But I only ever used it for mail. Now I'm looking to develop it as an umbrela company for all the other development ideas.

I think my first was a hand reg - NarcoticAdvice,com...sold it about 2 months later for $75 on Sedo.

Had no idea about traffic, keywords, or anything. Just regged a pile of names I liked....Many of them truly tragic, as I look back now...:)

My first domain was WiFirefly.com. I was a total newbie, I had barely found the domain forums at this time, I knew nothing. I regged it at Yahoo domains for like $20.
BUT being the newbie I was, I put it on eBay hoping for big bucks and shockingly this week old domain sold for $480 on there!! To a Canadian wireless company.
So after that ridiculous stroke of luck, I was completely hooked. Now 5 years later thanks to Namepros and the other forums, I do know what I'm doing! I quit my job and domain full time now, and lovin it.
I still haven't been able to turn a brandable hand reg into $480 in a few weeks since though ! :)

Well I started domaining a week ago and have learn a lot since then :P.
But my first order was:

EasyAmusement.com - 1,140 quoted keyword google searches.... yeh i know lol

BigWeights.com - Currently showcased at sedo - Preimum appraisal in the x,xxx range.

A nice backorder that hasn't dropped yet ;).

Backorder: Expert-Consult.com - got - 277,000 quoted keyword google searches; that's not that bad but it's still hyphenated... Planning to send emails to end-users.

Backorder: Mortgage-Analysis.com - got - 47,900 quoted keyword google searches - too low + hyphenated :(. Will probably develop though.

Backorder: FastCar.net - 3.3+ million quoted keyword google searches - didn't get; got beaten by a hand reg at another registrar :(.
I've found GoDaddy Backordering to be pretty pathetic over the last week tbh; anybody know of something better that isn't too expensive?

I've got 22 domains now with some pretty decent ones but I'm yet to get an offer/sale :(. Looking into a good place to auction a few atm :).
