Well, one of the weird replies i got was something like "We dont have rights to own that domain.". The domain registry had nexus restrictions, but the company is actually a registrar of those names.

Probably they're waiting for me to drop the name.. he he.. i wont! ;)

Hmm... maybe this thread will spawn a "What I would really like to say..." thread topic. We'd have to seperate it from the general viewership and take the filters off cuz there would, bound to be, something that got lost in translation. ie "Hey [expletive] Thank you for your [expletive], [expletive] offer, you [expletive],[expletive]. Now take, [expletive] and [expletive] yourself with it because your [expletive][expletive] of a [expletive] is [expletive]." doesn't quite maintain the the flavor or vitality of the original.

Knowing the participants in this thread, I am sure that there would be some very creative ways of telling someone to bugger off. (<- Tx English people for all of those colorful idioms that you have come up with, not to mention the anglo-saxonisms you've passed on down to us. -I mean how many other languages can boast of have over 100 words and ways of expressing something that is as straight forward as sh~t, for example?)

Who let the nice guy in here? Hurry! Get him out of here before clear rational thinking and good business sense begin to rear their ugly heads.

I've received some other good rejections emails before too... I'll find some tomorrow if I can. Stuff like "what are you smoking?" or "All 2 letter .com's are worth at least 6 figures"-to which I responded-"ok I've got one for you for a bargain, 95k, you want to buy?" and didnt get a response... (I don't really have one but for 95k could get one for sure)

Am I confused or just in a weird zone? I am getting an ambiguous message from a reread of the OP. Was he looking for examples of the refusal responses that we would send out -or- was he asking for examples of the best (as in, most outrageous), responses that we have received. I say, chaps! There seems to be a, small, bit of confusion regarding this matter.

I believe I posed this exact question in my EDIT of post #4. Post #8 seems to address this issue, but we/I are/am not really sure.
But I will mention, beer always tastes better on sunday. Anyone else noticed this anomaly?

Well knowing me as you do and where I live... las vegas, better then what day?
Because i think Monday is a great beer day, after you have had a long weekend with friends and family, and dont forget monday night football.
Tuesday is another great day because you should always chase the hang over with a beer, and so then the next thing ya know why not have a couple.
Wenesday, well do i have to tell ya how great that day is? Its HUMP day, ya gotta drink on hump day.
Thursday is a another great day because the weekend is coming and happy hour on thursday really starts the weekend.
Friday, well lets face it, another great day, we leave work or what ever we were doing early just so we can start drinking beer at 4pm. and thats a really great tasting beer.
Saturday laying in the sun at the pool having a nice COLD BEER in the 108 degree weather is a great beer.
So CY im not sure where i could rank the sunday beer as i feel that it would be wrong to leave any of the top 7 days out. D-: :-/ D-:
and Cy thanks for the mention of beer as now I am gonna go get a nice cold beer.
Thanks :tu:

"What part of $100 don't you understand?"

Even though I completely understand the dollar sign, the 1, and both zeros, plus the amount of money that these symbols when placed together as a whole represented, I cancelled negotiations with the turd. :)

Hmmm, now that I think about it Joker, perhaps this is just a dillusion, and because it's sunday and the beer tastes soooo good....., and now that you mention it, yesterday (sat) I thought the exact same thing, beer tastes best on saturday!!!! Hmm, this may require further study. Thanks for pointing this out, when the research is complete I will update this post.

Oh and back on topic, The guy that owned ThunderPoker.com (the only hole in my thunder sites, and what a big one it is), emailed me just before he let it expire and wouldnt come off the $500.00 price tag... but there wasnt really a "thanks but no thanks" thing going on, he wouldnt budge and let it drop. I was in "transition" by the time it hit the floor, and someone grabbed it for peanuts.

Good timing on this thread, I just received an "offer" via Fabulous of $20 for OnlyOriginals.com. It may never fetch 6, 5 or even 4 figures, but it's damn sure worth more than 20 bucks.

Now where's that finger ASCII ... :)

Can I just defend all lowballers out there please!

I do accept of course that offering a few dollars for a very valuable name is a waste of time.

However, when I contact someone to ask if their name is for sale and request a price if so, I am often told to make an offer as they do not have a price. Now, in business there is no sense in paying more than you have to for anything so why would I approach the owner with a price which may be in excess of what they wanted?! The closest thing I have had to this is making a sedo offer which was accepted within hours, for which I know think I overpaid.

So what I would appeal for is a little more understanding when someone offers you far less than you think your name is worth. If you want 5 figures, tell them that; or start somewhere close to begin negotiations.

Recently I would have paid upto mid $x,xxx for a name although after receiving one of the rudest responses ever written after my initial opening of a few hundred dollars I would rather pay someone else for a name that this unprofessional, obnoxious excuse for a businessman.
