Has anyone else experienced godaddy.com's adult word ban on dot us domains?


I just tied to register a "few" um adult domains, and hey presto,
a 4 letter word that ends in "K" and its not "WORK".. was rejected

am i being filtered by a company with amendments under there nations constitutional acts for words that are way in the public domain,
and i can still get at other registrars?,,,,,

Neustar don't want pornography polluting their extension, so you can't register these kinds of names. As a private company they're within their rights to sell their product (i.e. .us) how they see fit. Even if we don't agree.
Sounds like GoDaddy are saving you the hassle of registering and then Neustar taking the domain off you in a few days time.

Names that contain the so-called 7 dirty words under .us may be frozen forever by the registry... I know it sucks but I guess Neustar is only enforcing FCC rules

my suggestion is to look up the whois for popular domains that have profanity in them (certain 3/4 character domains) then find out what registrar their under. then register your profanity domains there

So are you saying you tried to reg something like f**k.us? That domain had to have been taken years ago during the landrush.

Neustar just reached in and took it off me...When I called them, they said it was one of the banned seven words that cannot be used for .us extension...

...But....wait for it....Bo*bs.us was okay...!!
