I agree, some great names Len

Good luck with Encyclopedia.tv (which I know is yours). - quality name

I note you are professional enough to add the premium on your name (Which is actually a reasonable $250 a year for such a high calibre name). You are to be commended for ALWAYS giving full details of any name you put up for sale.

- what a shame one or two other names, supplied, I should add by other sellers, have their premiums conveniently missing. I don't know the reason but this gives .tv a very bad image.

This is it / isn't it - how do we know if it is premium or not situation, made worse by people purposely leaving premium details out of auction will LOSE much bigger business in the future as auction confidence/facts will bring massive doubt to SEDO's ridiculous policy of not requiring FULL disclosure.

People who are unsure can, at least, check on Ahead.tv to see if a name is a premium or not. It is not always correct, but it certainly helps people new to the .TV market.

Big thanks to Polin for ensuring this service (Ahead.tv) still runs.

Len. I hope you do well in the auction. Your professionalism alone deserves it.

To those not disclosing this vital info - be careful. If I, and I'm sure many other buyers, bought a name from you and found this out I would not only not complete at SEDO if I found out, but if I found out at renewal time, I would start legal proceedings. If I had built a site by this time on the name - this could end up being very expensive for the loser.

Of course, you reputations, which I would hope are important to you, would also be a big pile of sh^t in the eyes of every other decent buyer and seller here.

Agreed there are some nice names, I acquired xray.tv which is a premium ($500) I only found out the other day, cant complain for the price I got it for. No way I can afford to renew it though especially since it makes me flinch that my vB licence runs out next month and costs $200 to renew lol Makes a lot of difference to tell people these things.

James,
While I agree that placing renewals is needed, the seller can not be at fault. I know on numerous occasions where a seller has provided information regarding renewals and Sedo fails to put them in. I am not sure a seller can insert these themselves in the comments, but the idea of a lawsuit seems frivolous to me. If the name is highly desired, it would probably require a level of due diligence on behalf of the buyer. I understand customer service may be an issue, but a phone call to Sedo to verify fees may help as well. Other recommended ideas would be to email the seller directly, check the whois to see if the registration was post March 18th and also use Ahead.tv as a metric (not final validation of course). Just my two cents.

Best,
A

I would definitely be very pissed if some knucklehead sold me a .TV and did NOT disclose that it was a Legacy Premium with more than the standard reg fee renewal fee ($20 - $50).
That is a Huge Factor that should be stated up front in the total investment.

Not Cool!

P.S.
As a matter of fact, I know I created a thread here a long time ago, asking that the Premium Yearly Fees be "required" within our .TV MarketPlace threads. I think there was only one comment in there and I believe it was only you, Jimbo. I have to dig that up again. It really should be required everywhere. and on the same note, I have to start remembering to add the info of "standard Renewals" on my .TV's just to avoid any further confusion if anyone is hesitant.

This is EX-premium. Record created on 23-Mar-2010. Regular renewal.

MG would *not* have sold you a legacy premium without letting you know. I can almost be sure that if he DID he would refund the $ you paid.

Smile you got a fun name for low $ :)

DefaultUser,
You're right.
MG, would definitely let you know if indeed it was a legacy premium.

If I remember correctly, this domain (Xray.tv) was on countless "reg fee available .TV" lists after March 18th.

and here ya go.

It was regged on Record created on 23-Mar-2010.

so Alex, this is NOT a legacy premium domain.

Ohh missed that :)

Didn't directly get it off MG, though it was in-direct.

Thanks for the info dot stop :xf.love:

Thanks for the info dot stop :xf.love:

You're welcome Alex.
Congrats, that is a great domain!

I wouldn't have traded knowing that and not telling you either Alex. I don't think it is. I might be wrong though.

Adrian,

It is definitely NOT a Legacy premium .TV domain.

Any .TV at all that has been regged after Mar 18th of this year will forever have normal reg fee yearly renewal rates.

For those that may want to change the description or add something once a domain is on auction at sedo here is a very easy way to do it that I posted in another thread on the forum.
It will change the description on all your domains but they can be corrected individually.

You can temporarily change the description on one of you other domains that is not currently on auction to whatever you want the domain on auction to read. To do this you check the "Apply this decription to all my domains" then save the changes.

This will change the description on the domain on auction ( as well as all your other domains), not ideal but it works. You will just have to remember to change the description on your other domains back to what they were.

Hope this helps those who want to make changes but think it is not possible without going through a drawn out email session with Sedo.

Good luck all. Just hope that many ll.tv will close with a nice 4 digit number next to...

While it is true that .TV domains regged after March 18/19 all have regular renewals, this shouldn't be the benchmark applied to determine if a name is premium or regular renewal. I have many IMO nice .TV domains regged prior to that date none of which have premium renewals. We just need better disclosure in auctions as there are some domains with premium renewals which will turn off most domainers.

hyperlink.tv
Estimated end time: Jun/27/10 05:29 PM EST
Current Bid: 100 USD
Reserve met
Bids: 1
Domain Language: English
Is Premium: Yes
Yearly Renewal Fee: US $500.00

There is no premium renewal fee, this is not a premium any more. As the most of the the ahead.tv list.

This joke must be stopped. People losing money and domainers future sales with the non updated ahead.tv database.

If you dont have a fresh list update, AT LEAST don`t publish the renewal fee along with .tv domain auction list.

Please. ;)

Sure Makis, you can write whatever you want at @sedo form, but when the buyer see this $500 yearly fee at ahead website, will be very confused. All i m saying is they have to fix/take care of this. I think it's good for their site, it's good for all of us.

Greetings from the "erotic" salonica :P

I have to agree with this.

Disclosure of legacy premium renewal rates really should be mandatory both here and at Sedo. There's nothing to gain and a lot to lose by being less than forthright about the true cost of ownership.

On a positive note, looks like xx.tv took a healthy jump overnight. Over $2K now. Kudos to the seller for disclosing the renewal fee of $400 on it.

OK,

This is becoming a huge nuisance.

I have been Very active in the .TV Aftermarket, and would like to continue being active but If people DO in fact know of Legacy Premium Renewal fees (that are NOT listed), even if you are NOT the owner, please list them here.

I think It would bring much more action to this auction if along with that list in the O.P. we also had a full list of renewal rates, because I don't know which domains had the forgotten remnewal fees on them, and I don't know if Ahead is correct.

If you know of some domain that is listed withOUT the full disclosure of the actual renewal fees, don't keep it a little secret between you and your pm buddies, Do the Community a Service, and let us all see wtf is the real deal here!

Thank You,
Vito

I have e-mailed Sedo to put renewals on names which they said they were going to do. Also, I have e-mail Polin at Ahead.tv to change premium renewals on many of my names that are wrong as well. Polin never responsed after 5 e-mails to him. The whole thing is frustrating.

Thanks, Jim
