i am thinking of an idea for a website and wanted to know if anyone would actually use it.

ok so basically the site is for domain sellers and buyers. It would all you to conduct your domain name transaction as usual knowing that you are backed by a written agreement.

So the site would provide a written agreement to transfer the domain to the buyer. It would cost $9.95 per transaction agreement.

Would you use this?

Are you trying to say that it would cost $9.95 for some kind of agreement to transfer the domain name to the buyer on top of whatever price you pay for the domain?

I think before anybody can answer you we need more details. Like exactly how do you intend to back up this agreement?

Personally I don't believe I would pay $9.95 plus the price for a domain just to have you say I have a wriiten agreement to buy the domain name.

ok heres more info,

here a little tour of what it would be like.

Join Free
Buyers and sellers can easily join for FREE. Each member has access to their private account page displaying contracts for domain names they are buying and selling.

Sellers: Create a Transfer Proposal
A seller can create a transfer proposal for just $9.95. It's quick and easy-- it will provide a default transfer contract! The proposal will be published on a private webpage viewable only to the seller and buyer.

Buyers: Review The Proposal
The buyer will receive an email with instructions for reviewing the online contract. Once the buyer has read the proposal, he may request changes to the content.

Sellers: Edit Your Proposal
If a buyer requests changes to the proposal, no problem! A seller can instantly edit a proposal as often as necessary until the buyer is satisfied and willing to approve. Take as long as you need to negotiate a fair contract.

Buyers: Approve The Proposal
When a buyer is satisfied with the proposal, all it takes is one click and it is officially approved. Both parties will receive an email notice upon approval.

Your Protection: The Contract
Once your proposal is approved, it is a valid contract. Buyer and seller can continue with the domain name sale confident that they are backed by a written agreement. It's that easy!

that is basically what it would be like.

would you use it?

It is just another Escrow style Brokerage service
How can anyone trust your service over a buyer or seller
This is something you need to provide

Wouldn't let me view the poll results either :p

Well another thing is that it would be simply useless... I mean, a scammer is not going to be swayed by an 'agreement' over the interenet at all, although it may be a legal contract, its not going to make a difference :). Just my 2 cents.

I would not pay $9.95 for a template contract and the ability to send negotiation correspondence through a website instead of by email. In fact I would not use it even if it were free. Too much chance for funny business, no record of correspondence, not to mention the question of who drafted the contract.

not allowed to vote.

I would not use the service. Rather not pay and have somebody quit out on a sale, than pay and have somebody quit out on a sale.

I'm not allowed to vote... Sheesh, my secret decoder ring must not be working correctly.

Go-Go-Gadget-hacking ;) (Kidding, completely.)

But, "No", I wouldn't use it.

If Sedo offered it, or a similar "big name" co, then maybe. But not a small/indpt site.

I can't vote. I don't know if I would use it.
I would probably stick with Sedo.
