Im not sure if this thred is in the right catergory, but here goes.

I am currently toying with the idea of making a professional domain parking service, simlar to that of Sedo, Afternic, etc etc and we will be giving our customers a higher % of what Sedo and the rest currently offer on the PPC, so basicly, i would like to know if you would use it to sell your domains/websites on? and i am wondering if we could get full backing from NampPros.com for this project as i would like to include the NameBucks scheme into it. The domains i have in mind for the main site are "Traffic100.com, R26.com, iDomainCity.com or iDomainTraders.com" If you would like to have a preview of the script, please PM me.

I feel there is room for growth in this area but getting people to make the switch is the hard part. Its kinda like starting a new Auction site and going head to head with the allready established/well known sites. You'd have to have all the same bells and whistles plus something extra/different/special about your offering.

Yes Tippy, i agree with you on everything you said, and we are willing to invest big time on this project, time, money and effort, and to be honest i really dont rate Sedo, Afternic at all, and we are going to pull out all the stops on this project.

Sinful i would do some serious research on this.It kinda goes further than one might think to have this be a real contender in a very competetive market place.It will take atleast two employees aswell,The reason being i say all this is because i researched it thouroughly and found that when you park names you take half of the legal responsabilities that goes with it.That being names with TM infringment ect.You are responsable for what the DNs you let people park on your site,This means you must check TM,Check the name for being stolen and ect,The chances of legal action is slim to none against the site owner themselves,But reports to the Better Business B are imenent with violations.But i like your development idea,And you seem determinded and very focused on the project.I believe if you research and develope properly you site would do well.Best of luck to ya sinful with the development.

Thank you X, and yes, we have done our research, its not like we have just come up with the idea "oh hey, shall we start a free domains parking site like sedo?" we have been researching and playing with this idea for about 1-2 years now and its only recently that we have come to a decion on it, im sure my staff of about 40 employees will help with the maintenance of the site and i have a lot of contacts in the law industry, 4 of them being related to the TM side of things. Yes we will also be responsable for the domains while they are parked and every single doman will go through a unique check system we have in place, we will check for everything you mention, and if we dont think it is viable, the "owner" of that domain will be rejected and sent a PM stating why he/she was rejected.

Ok, thank you for your comments, i hope more members comment on this as i would really love to know your thoughts and opinions on this project, but we are going to go ahead with the domain parking program, i strongly believe this will turn into something bigger than Sedo and the rest, after all, everyone has to start somewhere, there not just big instanstly, i have taken your opinions on borad, i hope that i will get the support i need from you guys in order to make this a success lol. Now just to decide on the domain name! or has anyone got any for sale that are related to my project? they MUST be .com, i will accept not other extention for this.

I'd use it, but I usually just park my domain at a free hosting with a page waiting for buyers.... and put some ads on it.

Vip-ip, i think thats what most people do, infact, i know people that dont even do what you just mentioned, thay just register the name and leave it until they sell it, not linked to anypage, nothing, i know this because im one of those peope, so why not put your name/website for sale on our parking program and go from there, its also a great way to find out if the name/site has any traffic. You have nothing to lose, everything to gain.

I think it's a fantastic development sin,Something i would consider in the development would be the uniqueness of the site itself,Sedo and afternic and ect are decent sites..But they somewhat look the same,I would design as an unique site as possible,With a different look and feel from the rest,This will set your site apart right from the begining of launch.I think you have a great development in the works!

can't say I would, but there are only a few barriers to entry when entering this field. I would say go for it, make the necessary investment and strive for the goal. If it doesnt go as planned, sell the domain and the website as a package on sedo and make back your investment.

A twist you could use to set your service apart

Have you read my idea for a dynamic parking service? I know if you had something that allowed me to set up simple and original layouts for each of my parked domains it might entice me and others to move over some domains.

Thank you guys for your imput. Stscac, we as a company are willing of invest in this project heavely, and i am ready to invest my own personal money into this project, because i know it can be a sucess, and the you will NEVER see the script/website up for sale on any of the current parking services. I got told lastweek by someone that Sedo was the biggest domain parker with 1.1 million domains, to me that is a very small number in comparisin to how many users there actually online these days, and im sure as hell there is alot more than 1.1 million domains out there, and when you really think about it, there are only 5 or 6 major parking companys, the market is massive, and i can say that our website will be up there with the best of them.

And as for you Calian, i like that idea, it sounds good, i will pass it onto my coders to see if this is viable, if it is, it will be included! thank you for your suggestion.
