absolutly...and i do...if all other TLD's are taken...Get the CCTLD .us ....Although many frown on .us ...Mainly n00bs-lol... I truly believe .us is prospering....Just as UK'ers surf .co.uk...Middle eastern countries surf .in ...US'ers will be surfing .us :)

I agree with my man, -X-. And it sounds like you may have found a nice name based on a new-emerging product. Certainly worth the risk of spending a reg fee.

:)

Yes, Reg that name.

.us will prosper in the future. The domain game has "just started" to reach the main stream.

People know .com but I have been seeing more promotion on cable tv for .us and .info domain names.

JMHO and it is the last of the tlds. Why not, it's a few dollars that you should be able to make back on the name this year.

IMHO ccTLDs are a strong option and in some eyes = .com, so go do it.....

Certainly if the domain is generic, reg it!

I just reged a .us generic german word that is taken in all tld and 20 cctld's. If it doesn't have any traffic keep it six months and then dump it on ebay or the Bazar. I doubt that you will loose if you just have reg fees invested

good question volholic. I've found myself in similar situations where all the other extensions were gone, except for the .us(e.g healfiles.us) and i often ended up registering those domains because i asked myself "why are the other TLDs registered"? If the domain name is good enough to be registered in all other TLDs, then the .us must be worth something too(maybe not as much).

Not necessarily. Sometimes someone who registers the .com buys the other tlds too but can't buy the .us b/c they don't do business in the US.

That is what I was thinking that maybe some of these companys cannot buy the .us
Oh well---I bought it anyway

BareEscentuals.us----Its the all natural cosmetic line that is on QVC and the other shopping channels all the time now.
The .tv and .co.uk extensions are taken also
I took everyones advice---thanks

Definitely a good idea to grab it. It's the very rare case that you're going to meet when a company cannot register the .us yet register all the other big TLDs and some ccTLDs. A little research can determine that as well.

Yes, and I always do that.

motivation

THis can actually serve as motivation for getting the .us because someone else registering the other TLDs means people are excluded from that domain name(at least with the major TLDs), thereby making the .us more attractive(assuming the domain name itself is a good name).
