Would you post your dev. mini-site(s) please?

Like many other Npers, I am looking towards developing some of my better domains, rather than leaving them in declining PPC. I would really appreciate seeing some examples of 3-5 page mini-sites with Adsense, Adbrite etc that Npers have developed for their domains.

I'm not asking for postings of Whypark, Imodo etc mini-sites, as these types of sites are covered elsewhere in other threads. I'm hoping to see some (inspirational..) examples of mini-sites developed from scratch or using available templates. If you'd like to showcase or share, I hope you post some links to your sites. Thanks in advance.

Mod Edit: No more than five live links per post.

Blogcrash - Clicked on your pisa website. Very nice indeed - well done.

I like your use of photos - did you do a special search on Flickr for "creative commons" photos or are all such pictures on display at Flickr under the same license?

I use a wordpress plugin to search on Flirckr for "creative commons" while i'm posting.
The plugins only search for photos that you can use in "commercial" blogs. You have to setup up that in the settings. Very cool plugin ;)

Question for you mini-site developers. Since most of these sites are generating all of their traffic through search, why not use subdomains instead of individual domains?

Google and the other search engines treat subdomains as individual sites so why not set-up each mini-site as a subdomain? For example if you owned XYZ.com you could have cellphones.xyz.com, ringtones.xyz.com, videogames.xyz.com, etc.

This would reduce your annual renewal fees and it would allow you to select exact keywords for the sites.

Any thoughts you can share would be appreciated.

That is exactly what I have done with my Blogger.com blogs and some of my older minisites.
Not so much using your example (Non-related Base domain) , but using subdomains that build on the keyword(s) in the base domain.
Example
Business.Insurance.com
Auto.insurance.com
life.insurance.com
term.life.insurance.com

But separate domain names do not really cost that much and can be re-sold. Whereas sub-domains can't be resold , unless you are a QUALITY Domainer.

The Increased Value that a minisite gives to a domain is usually more than the development cost. You have to look beyond just the monetisation advantages of minisites, there are other advantages as well.
Reselling as a $100 site is easier than trying to sell as a $20 domain name.

When I initially started graphpaper.us I actually bought a three character .com name (w7x.com) with that in mind. I had intended to use graphpaper.w7x.com as one site and mathworksheets.w7x.com as another. While google "claims" to treat subdomains as independant domains, I didn't see that effect. In fact I started to see more traffic almost immediately by moving the site to graphpaper.us and 301'ing the site to its new home.

However this is just what I saw. It could have been totally due to other factors. I was still pretty green when it came to seo when I was doing the test. I still am pretty green, but maybe a lighter shade?

Yes Lose the RED and structure the page.
and add the following
1/ Contact Details
2/ Privacy Policy
3/ MORE Relevant CONTENT

Exactly what is a MINISITE?

A minisite is NOT just a page with 3 Adsense ADS and a RSS FEED
That is called a "Made for Adsense" or MFA page, which is specifically prohibited in the Google Adsense TOS.

An example of a GOOGLE adsense Compliant Minisite
http://LowestStudentLoanConsolidation.com

Barefoottech - You have some very nice minisites and clearly much experience in this area.

I have had a quick look (and that was all admittedly) at the Google TOS for Adsense that applies to my area and could not find the stipulation that you refer to. Could you point it out to me. I note that Google automatically refers you to the TOS that apply depending on where you live so we may well have reviewed completely different TOSs.

Thanks

Pommy

This brings up an interesting thought I had a while back. I have not yet persued this idea but it seems solid. I've recently been hearing commercials on the radio for helicopter pilot training. (the theme of your site) Thinking back to the days when people (not me) were getting massive dollars for mesothelioma clicks I was hearing alot of tv ads about lung cancer. What am I getting at?

It seems a good way to choose a topic for minisites would be to listen for the most annoying, nonlocal commercials you can find. Chances are there's money to be had if they're pushing it on tv.

Anyone know what the epc rates look like for:
Gold Recycling
DUI Lawyers
Identity theft protection
Life Alert
Mail Order Pet Medication

I'm sure a couple hours of late night tv could produce a nice list of high paying keywords. (who says bieng a couch potato doesn't pay)

ty blaknite...

I'm not sure what country your in, but here in Australia there are NO ads for helicopter training....lol

I have a Top Paying Keyword Script on one of my biggest mini-sites...lol
you may find it useful
