Domain Empire

Would you post your dev. mini-site(s) please?

Spaceship Spaceship

Like many other Npers, I am looking towards developing some of my better domains, rather than leaving them in declining PPC. I would really appreciate seeing some examples of 3-5 page mini-sites with Adsense, Adbrite etc that Npers have developed for their domains.

I'm not asking for postings of Whypark, Imodo etc mini-sites, as these types of sites are covered elsewhere in other threads. I'm hoping to see some (inspirational..) examples of mini-sites developed from scratch or using available templates. If you'd like to showcase or share, I hope you post some links to your sites. Thanks in advance.

Mod Edit: No more than five live links per post.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
EV - the business ebooks site looks good - I agree ebooks have got a bright future. How long did it take you to set up the site or did you outsource it? And is there any particular reason you are using smashwords rather than Amazon ?

I have not looked into amazon mostly because i am also selling my written ebooks at smahwords and the opportunity for bigger commissions is far greater .....minimum 11% compared to 4% or whatever it is at amazon

Another feature is that i like the cut and paste code for each ebook, so essentially it is like just doing and article on a blog each time i add a book

And add the fact the payout threshoold is much lower at smashwords ...... i actually get paid, because like so many affiliates who try hard and never reach the payout limit i am easily put off ptomoting and putting time into a situation where only 'the house' wins

The theme is a free theme and i also thought it had a good look to it as well

Thanks for your imput!

Blue is a bit glarey for me and the amazon products seem to have nothing to do with the sites intentions ?

Thanks evirtual1!
A little "glarey" is that cause it too light or dark...about the amazon stuff..right now just filler to I get a decent template!

After thought..the big Amazon is supposedly based on my visitors search patterns..maybe that why?

I would be using that space to provide info about the team ......history, players, finals

That color blue seems a bit bright to me

Hello,

I just finished the first version of this minisite: http://www.thq.in

This is more or less a "website laboratory", to check if seo with high ppc topics can permit to cover renewal fees :|

Theorically speaking, I know the answer is yes, but I'm not a web development specialist...

Just a quick start but i like the black background that makes the rest stand out

Another i have made a start on is International Travel at this point i have just established which template i am going to use, travel and holiday sites require a lot of content and i am not sure how long until it willbe finished ?

Anyone tried Squidoo to create minisites?

I like it because you don't need a domain name and hosting, it's very easy to build a page, and the lens ranks in Google extremely well (without any backlinks).

For example, I set up a lens about pocket watches for men a week ago. If you search for the main keyword, my site is on the second page, the 20th site out of 18 million. If you use "pocket watches for men", then my lens is on the first page (out of 128.000).

And the best thing is that this is just the beginning, because: if more visitor arrives from Google, the lens will rank better on Squidoo. And if it ranks better on Squidoo, it's going to rank better in Google.

So you would say it is worth it paying for example 250 to have someone make a minisite (like aeiou) if you do not have the time/fun to do it yourself.
Considering 250 is 12 months of 20 dollar and then you are "homefree" and the value from your site has gone up.
Do you need high quality domainnames to make 20 dollar a month with minisites?

Pay for your own hosting, learn wordpress or Joomla (takes all of about 5 minutes for the basics), find some good content (not as hard as you may think) and profit.

Hosting per year(shared) $160 - give or take. Why bother paying anyone to do it when, once you get used to it, a site can be up and running in ten minutes or less. Do it yourself and it's all your profit. :)

Happy to agree with this and to even say that i purchased 3 years of hosting for this price when a local aussie company was having a sale it was better for my .com.au names, yes do try and learn about wordpress ..... there are a whole lot of templates out there and a thousand and one plugins to help enhance the project, it is only getting better as time goes by. I always use a goole analytics plugin which helps me verify ownership which once done and i submit a sitemap and the site is indexed over night, i use a google sitemap plugin for this as well, many people try to hack my sites but wordpress firewall 2 plugin keeps them out and besides there is a simple export tool that allows you to make a backup

All of my sites listed in this thread are wordpress and i am pleased i made the effort to learn.

I would only use squidoo to make links for my wordpress sites \
