Hi guys,

Just saw this listing on Flippa for Terror.com fetching $9299, without reaching reserve.

Was wondering if it was your domain, would you have let it go for $9K? I realise there are many factors, ie purchase price etc, but I would have surely been tempted to sell.

Hmmm

I think if the seller has not put it on the market before and this his first attempt then it would make sense not to let it go. (assuming he does not need the funds urgently) Would make sense for him to see if he can get a decent broker for the domain instead of selling it for that price.

Seller is looking at $35,000 or closest offer.

would be tough. if that was double my purchase price then yes I'd let it go.

if I owned terror.com $35k would be my dream price; wouldn't hold for it though. I hate holding domains.

NO WAY! It's worth much much more than $10k.

Thanks,
Brandon

Flippa is not the best way to maximize value. Could the domain get more ? I think so.

It's Flippa. We don't even know how he got the $9299 bid. Maybe it was his friend or some other shill bidder.

I think that domains worth more in my opinion, he does right holding out. Mentioning no names but I've had some garbage one word domains offered to me by several users begging not far off 9k, them names are complete garbage and practically unusable. I mean www.terror.com could be used to so many things and looks great typed.

I've also had some good one word domains offered here, so don't get your panty's in a twist if you think that's directed at anyone who reads this! B-)B-)

Tell me what you see @biggie?

if, you realize, that there are many factors, ie: purchase price..... then how can say that you'd be tempted to sell, when you don't know that price?

just saying....

that's interesting you said that. so. people DO THAT on the regular? I've always WONDERED.

so the scheme is to put up domain for auction with a reserve of $35K? and someone puts up a shill bid for $9988? just to start it up? the shill bidder isn't technically on the "hook" for his bid as his bid did not reach thee owners Reserve price? I wonder if these marketplaces make sure that bids that high are from people who actually have the funds? any verification process?

on 4.cn all bids are from people who have actually verified funds. verified by 4.cn

I can see how that would "work" and a potential bidder who has that "winner" mentality. There are alot of them out there. They see someone putting a bid that high sometimes triggers thee urge for the impulse buyer to make a higher bid.

I wonder how many of the "big boys" actually do this?
and how many times this has actually worked?

does anyone have any examples where they "suspect" they were "Tricked" by a shill bid to bid on a domain that normally wouldn't be THAT high?

I'd be curious to find out.

but seriously. Terror.com? $9k?

ask yourself. How much would Mike Mann Sell it?

IMO a domain you don't want to own.

Nothing but negative connotations, ZERO commercial appeal, very few industries that could use TERROR as a brand.

And still, it is a one word .COM super mega domain you don't want to sell for pennies.

I think the seller can easily get $15,000 so no need to rush and sell at $10K
