Hi All,

I own the legal term medical malpractice in .tv. When You type in the term on youtube there is an attorney that shows up all over the place. Why or why not do you think he would be or should be interested in the .tv domain?

Thanks for any input.

why not - nothing ventured, nothing gained - have a game plan in mind and do it! - you own the name - he doesn't!

Corey,

Thank you for the question. No, I do not have legal experience. Just experience that came from interviewing several lawyers for mu husbands medical malpractice case. It was a real learning experience.

I bought medicalmalpractice .tv in 2005 because of it.

Question to you, why do you think I need legal experience or qualifications to approach an Attorney?

Thanks Again,

JLC

Sorry JLC after re reading your post I realised I misinterpreted the meaning of the post. Just to make sure I have it right...you want to contact this Attorney to see if he is interested in buying your name?

Cheers

Hi Corey,

Sorry this reply was slow, I didn't see it. Thank you for taking the time.

Yes, I would like to contact him. I now have medicalmalpractice.tv up as a channel me site. As you can see my level of experience doesn't do it justice.

Right now, I have down loaded this attorneys videos from youtube. He seems to get the value of the internet, but he doesn't have a great domain name.

How do I convince him?

Thanks,

JLC

JLC I'm not that familiar with channel me.

What I would do....is upgrade the site...either using Joomla or paying someone to set it up and add content.....

A Top Class site...that an Attorney would be proud to call his own

Advertise, promote, monitorise....build a user base...

Send monthly reports to him with details.

Cheers
Corey

Corey

Not familiar with channel me? I am surprised. They are bashed around here regularly. For someone like myself though its a good place to start.

I understand the value of development, I am not tring to sell a website. Just a great domain to the legal community.

Thanks Again,

JLC

It is generic, so no reason not to approach an attorney.

IF it was his name or something specifically tied to him that might be trademarked, then I wouldn't approach him. That would be like approaching a lion with a raw steak tied around your neck.

LOL. I like your analogy, bulldog. As far as the name goes, I totally agree here. It is a generic that was bought 3 years ago, so I don't see any bad faith here
at all. Go for it, and tell us what happens!

Thanks bulldog, Having dealt with several attorneys during my husbands case I appreciate the humor. I came to an understanding of all the lawyer jokes.
