There is a big company, that owns a LLLL.com, an acronym for their name.
I checked other TLD's and they also own the .info, .mobi and the .biz, where their site is uploaded also, it doesn't forward to the .com version. The .org is taken by a family support resources site.
Do you think they would be interested in acquiring the .net version ?

We can't answer that, it seems likely though, go for it, you've nothing to lose by giving it a go.

check the trademark things first, and then go for the available one. otherwise you will lose your reg fee and your time.

@Samuelhr, my thoughts exactly.
@ulasbbtr, checking trademarks is one of the first things i do before thinking of buying a domain.

Thanks, guys.

If they also own all those extensions then there's a reasonable chance they would be interested in the .net if it was a reasonable price

If they just owned the .com I would have said probably no unless you could prove it got decent traffic

JMO - purely speculation

Good Luck

I got a lowball offer on a 1996 reg .com from a huge company but they were'nt willing to pay 10k (ish) ...They just reg'd 5 other extensions instead :'(

...you just can't tell, sometimes it is just down to luck

@gazzip They thought it would be a better idea to cut costs. These things really depend on the manager, it's his decision. If he's not fully aware of the potential of .com he'd buy any day another extension.
10k or $40 ? :)
