First, is there a service like this?

Whereas they take on your domain for brokerage and they don't just sit and wait for people to email and call but rather take the initiative to email potential end users?

Obviously a service like this would have to be very picky what names it takes on, but would this be something people would pay for?

Obviously the domain owner will be able to see all emails and communications.

I don't know if there is a service like this, there are brokers but don't know if there is a open brokering service... I've been thinking about it too lately.

Yes, it would have to be very picky, unless..........
Let's say this service offers active brokering for $xx per name + a small fee (like 20%) of the sale price, yes, it has to be very picky because otherwise a broker would waste his time.
But seller could decide to bypass the initial selection by paying a bigger starter fee (like $100).
Of course, if the seller decides to submit the domains without any "bypass", it's not possible to add the "bypass fee" anymore, in order to avoid any suspect the broker is going to refuse all the domains to get the higher fee.
